    Ibishu Serenity

    Lore:

In 1984, Ibishu already took over Japanese and US market by storm with their cheap and affordable cars, however they were in desperate need of a luxury class car for the growing market for them in Japan. So they have come up with a 4.78m long fullsize sedan featuring a selection of high end interior materials and sturdy V8 and V10 engines. These cars were not only expensive to produce, but they also were not available for a general customer, hence they have become a true status symbol in 80s. During the limited production, Ibishu sold around 2000 vehicles mainly in the Japanese market with some being exported into other Asian countries. It was available in sedan, LWB and limousine variations.

    Videos:

    A couple of notes:
    • I've decided to do a slightly different approach to the texturing this time, reusing only normal maps from pessima and retexturing the whole thing myself. The engine textures are also based on Grand marshall ones (might change them later)
    • About the vehicles it represents: class wise - Toyota Century, styling is inspired by Nissan Cedric, Toyota Crown, Lexus LS and Honda Vigor and Ibishu styling notes taken from Pessima and Covet are also present to make it as lore friendly as possible.
    • Upon release mod will be 100% free and available on repo

looks really good, if I could suggest something, like the Toyota century maybe add a plastic cover to the engine.

(I know this is an early stage, just suggesting )

    That looks amazing!

The front is weirdly reminiscent of 1980s Chrysler K cars, mixed with the ETK i-series. I cant exactly put my finger on it, but it feels american-german, rather than japanese.

I think its due to the thickness of the grille bars, especially how it sticks out ahead of the headlights, instead of being integrated into the fascia. That, combined with the overall boxy-ness of the fascia, makes it feel crude in comparison to japanse offerings, which have more rounded edges, making it feel like a cheap american attempt at luxury. Probably also due to the multiple amber front indicators, both in the bumper and the headlights, which screams USDM market safety laws.

I trust we will get some absolutely rad digital gauges?

Japanese took a lot of design bits from american cars of that era, so they will look at least a bit american no matter what. I might change the lights slightly before making textures for them to reduce that effect though. And yes, expect some awesome digital gauges.

Could i see a photo of the front in daytime? i think a lot of it might come from the lighting.
