No, it is because Russian cybercrime laws don't apply unless a Russian citizen is affected. They can release any virus they want as long as they make sure nobody from Russia gets it.

I didn't even know that they had a forum. I've used modsgaming ru to find very old mods so I could try and get them to work. I really haven't had an issue with using it, as long as I blocked the notifications from sharemods or where-ever. I haven't actually gotten a virus from this site. The big issue is they re-upload private mods, which is illegal and unethical.

Illegal? no one ever sued the mod websites for DMCA in beamng history. unethical? true, but they don't care.

 

Its because russia (were they are based) have no copywrite laws so they cant get sued

 

Yea, thats true, also the mods are free, so as long as there is no paywall, I can't imagine it's illegal
