I thought it used the 2JZ, tbh... --- Post updated --- Wider tires are certainly the main reason for the super wide fenders, it's just that ok, the whole packaging includes the engine too and I thought of a very makeshift layout, hehe! I know how turbos are cooled down, don't get me wrong, I just thought of them in their red hot state during full throttle and anti-lag.
Taken from Wikipedia: "first appearing in 1994 [...] with a four-cylinder 2.1 liter 4T-GTE" "by the late 1990s, the Supra used a developed version of the 3SG" "by the early 2000s [...] the Supra moved to the 3UZ-FE V8 engine"
Since there has been a lot of discussion about future vehicle remasters, I made this list of past updates to vehicles to help with the speculation. I'm totally posting here because I realized there's nowhere else for me to post this other than Reddit tho.
Wow, so the 86' Pessima, Miramar and Moonhawk haven't been touched for 6 years now... Definitely the #1 priority for me
the miramar needs some love. it has NO customization options. the modding community doesn't make many mods for the thing. its sad...
They have recieved minor updates over the years (like the Donk Moonhawk added recently), I only counted more major improvements and remodels of the base cars. If I included every single update, the chart would be pretty much filled up which would defeat its point. But I agree, all of those cars could use more love.
I won’t argue that they aren’t in dire need of a remaster, but concerning your graph, didn’t the ‘88 Pessima, Miramar and Moonhawk all receive a slight remodel a few years ago? On the other hand, IIRC cars like the Barstow, Burnside and ETK I-series never got model updates at all.
It's true, the '88 Pessima, the Miramar and the Moonhawk received a slight reproportioning in 2019, IIRC. Apart from the reproportioning, the Miramar also received some nice PBR/appearance upgrades for its interior in the 0.24 Major Update, the Moonhawk received some half-done PBR upgrades in the 0.23 Major Update and the Burnside received some upgrades for both its frame and body in this 0.24.1.2 minor update. None of the above (plus the Barstow and the I-Series) has received a holistic upgrade so far. --- Post updated --- Italy isn't ready yet because it's too large and densely contented of a map, but it's certainly receiving its PBR upgrades behind the scenes. One step at a time! I believe it's the ECUSA and WCUSA, because they're not that big, even if the ECUSA has a lot of flora. Plus the Grid Small Pure map needs a PBR upgrade/restyling to fit to the new overall look of BeamNG.
Also there are some things like the steam banner that needs to be updated, or the trophy gear pattern icons when you finish scenarios that don't really fit anymore.
The Miramar should at least have removable bumper guards, because on a sport version both a bumper with guards and no bumper at all look wrong
i dont like the miramar... but i think its because its very basic compared to other vehicles.. i agree that miramar needs some love. it would really make it better. imagine an official miramar bosozoku would be lit.
You're right, it's a bit boring now because it doesn't have a lot of content. The PBR upgrade of its interior is great but it's not enough on its own. A Bosozoku version would be great. Or a 2-liter race-tuned Inline-6 for the Race variant. Or a coupe body. Or some versions of both bodies with the factory-tuned Inline-6!
That's a good question - and it made me realize something. For whatever reason, not even documentation.beamng.com is keeping track of PBR progress on levels, though they are keeping track of vehicle progress. From what I can tell from reading patch notes, only two updates (0.24.0 and 0.24.1) have so far included updates to PBR textures on maps, and in all cases PBR has been applied only to roads (apparently sometimes only asphalt roads), decals, and terrain. As best as I can piece together, the list as it stands is as follows: Roads, Decals, and Terrain updated to PBR: Jungle Rock Island Utah Small Island Asphalt Roads and Terrain Updated to PBR: ETK Driver Training Centre Derby Arenas Gridmap Hirochi Raceway Industrial Site That would leave East Coast USA, West Coast USA, Italy, Cliff, and the Automation Test Track completely untouched, but the rest are still apparently works in progress (It seems that map assets like buildings have yet to be updated to PBR, and it also seems that unpaved roads and some decals also remain incomplete on five maps). I'd probably guess that Cliff will be both next on the list and completed first - it's probably the least complicated official map outside of Grid, Small, Pure. I'd also imagine that ECUSA would precede WCUSA, which in turn would precede Italy, so that any lessons learned about PBR in complicated urban areas of the map could be applied there. By the way, I notice this is only your second post, and that you just joined us yesterday. Let me be the first to welcome you to the forums!
Username checks out lmao --- Post updated --- From a quick Google search, it appears titanium is 40% heavier than aluminium, with a density of 4,5 g/cm^3, while the latter has a density of 2,7 g/cm^3... unless I'm missing something, I'm not very informed on the matter
Good piece of info this one. I'm not very informed on the matter either, I must had read somewhere that titanium is lighter than aluminium and didn't really bother to look it up...
