I doubt the devs will really mess with the Bastion model to tweak the design any time soon, hell they might not even touch it for years until it eventually becomes a candidate for a remaster. Only then we might see a refinement on the design (like how the Bollide's design was tweaked for its own remaster). As much as I agree with all of these, this is literally what we're stuck with for the foreseeable future sadly.

Might be wrong, but it has a “passenger weight” and “driver weight.” I believe mine was fixed as the weight was incorrectly balanced

This is also true of the front suspension. After the Hotfix, it still jiggles quite a lot during braking, with the front wheels moving slightly backwards.

Also yeah, the chassis of the Bastion may not be that stiff for a modern car but, even today, this fact is 100% realistic. I've come to the conclusion that BeamNG devs show us different views on body rigidity across different modern cars from different brands. The modern ETKs (the 800 especially) and the FCVs are the absolute best in that aspect because their platforms are cutting edge not only in their respective time periods but also in today's time. The Bastion, on the other hand, isn't as rigid, which may suggest us that it's based on a platform with a certain number of years on its backbone.

I just view this like the SBR4. When it first came out everyone lost their minds and hated the design, so much to the point that I believe the SBR4 thread was closed for a period.

Now a few years on we understand that its a fictional vehicle that doesn't have to follow any real life standards & we have no issues with it. This car will be the same, give it a couple months & nobody will care.

It is objectively missing fluid lines...

People hated the SBR4? I always thought it looked amazing!

The eSBR's front fascia made zero sense to me, since it was most definitely less aerodynamic than the ICE version, which would make it a worse ev, but that's in the past now.

(also, regarding the bolded part, Beamng's purpose, to my understanding, is to be an increasingly realistic vehicle simulator. Id argue design is certainly a massive part of what makes something convincing or realistic, so to strive for realism means to strive for realistic designs that follow or at least reference real life standards, as well as the engineering.)

This is my understanding too. This is why we also see the Bastion chassis not being as strong as the other modern cars in the game, despite being made at the same time period as them. It definitely carries some more years on its backbone than the others.

Agreed, interior also doesn't feel as modern as it supposedly is. Believe this was mentioned too. To me, (I'm from the UK, so might not know a lot about it) but it suits the 2012 ish Charger more. But even then, it's too bulky. Reminds me of a Maserati design the way the lines are. Doesn't mix well to me

I agree with everything you said but my view is a bit different about the overall design and the interior of the Bastion.
About the overall design: in general yes, it does remind us of the 2012 300C/Charger but at the same time it doesn't and it doesn't have to. The point of the game is depicting real-life designs but with discreetly interesting fictional twists thrown in at each mix by the Dev Team for making each model unique enough to have its own identity in the game! "Tell us without telling us"! :)
About the interior: the interior feels ok, it's just that the car isn't very expensive. We're talking about a $40k American car, so it's natural for it to feature some cheap-looking (and cheap-feeling, but since we're talking about a game, we gotta take this with some grain of salt) plastics. Also, the gauge clusters have some 300C (the Base/Luxe cluster with the blue needles and script) and Charger (the black Sport, the silver Sport GT and the red Redtail clusters) elements to them.

Does it make the overall car a failure though?

No, just saying, it is far more in need of rework than the SBR design :)

I'd say that the whole floor is kind of weak. Every time you crash, the car folds upwards. That's why, for example, the seats lean forward in crashes. and even with heavy duty mounts for the rear subframe, it still moves back and forth. From the belt line up, the car is quite fine, but the lower part could be reinforced so it doesn't feel flimsy.

Just had an idea for a new engine: I believe a V6 Turbodiesel can be very useful for those who want a large car but they also want better fuel economy so that they need not opt for the 5.7 V8 in order to have decent power/torque and everyday performance. The 8-Speed Automatic with the Heavy-Duty Locking Torque Converter can make a great combo with this engine as will the AWD system with the Electronically Locking Differentials.

While this would likely be plausible IRL, I find it unlikely to appear as the general concept for the vehicle is basically Dodge Charger. Its current engine options match the IRL Charger very well and I don't find it abnormal to think Dodge never even considered putting a diesel engine in the Charger.

Unless if they sold it in Europe.

I find it hard to believe that anyone that wants to buy a car that big in Europe would not buy a Chrysler product...

Edit: just remembered they sell a Chrysler 300 in Europe. Still the coolest car on that platform, because they have a wagon version available in Europe.
