Read, the god damn, dev blog. There's your progress.

Gabester is having personal issues, he's stated it in one of the most read official showroom threads. That's why there is no vehicle progress.

Yes I do look like an asshole, and I tell you what: I have been trying to shut up for a long time. And now I don't really care anymore, tbh. I must be 'that guy' now on this forums, but guess what: Who cares! I know that Gabe has issues, I respect that, but the tease screens are rolling out on full power. It's bugging me. Like the post above yours said, it's an alpha build. It is fine to release unfinished things. This way, people can have fun (paid customers, that is) AND progress will go much faster because of the community that tracks all the bugs down.

Not really. My point was that if you release progress pics of things we're not gonna get for months at least we should be able to access the dev builds just like in other recent games, like DayZ, or Rust. If anything I'm complaining about the lack of access to the dev builds, new pics are always welcome.

To be honest, they look ready to me judging by the pictures. Obviously you know better because you get to use them.

    Good to know.

I will ignore the offensive tone in your post, I prefer to keep it friendly and nice, you know, about not using my eyes or the sarcastic-mocking tone in the last sentence, you can just keep that to yourself next time.

You guys want some shitty untextured vehicles with no interiors? If we released them in their current state the flood of bitching and whining would probably crash the forums. They will be released when they're ready.

In the mean time, we are working our asses off on fixing bugs and adding more features. I just spent the last few hours fixing the wheel shake problem that was plaguing all the vehicles. We are working on the new vehicle selector, the input stuff, and Sam (LJFHutch) is working on an awesome new map. No, not East Coast USA, a different awesome new map, and it's almost done.

I would be fine to have 'shitty untextured vehicles with no interiors'. Because it is an alpha state project, I am perfectly fine with unfinished things.

You're one person. We have tens of thousands of customers who would download the update without knowing any context, see the untextured car, and immediately flock to the nearest forum to start bitching.

Also, as is the case with any bleeding edge dev build, a lot of stuff is half-working right now. We would rather not piss off our customers by breaking things and giving them unfinished content.

This forum does nothing but gripe and complain. You asked for progress screenshots, you got them. Be happy ffs.

We may consider opening up the latest dev builds to a group of the public that chooses to be included if the demand is high enough, much like DayZ's experimental branch. I'm not sure about the logistics of this with Steam's update system, but I believe it's possible.

In this case we would be doing this to satisfy the people (like you) who don't mind the buggy experimental builds with unfinished content. The feedback and bug reports will probably be 95% things we already know and are fixing (one of the reasons we don't make these dev builds public).

I agree with you but I also have to agree with Gabe. Sadly, stupid people who don't read do things like that. It's how society works. In this case, idiots like that (people who don't read and complain about unfinished things) ruin it all for us.

See? SEE? Well, Gabe, I'd like to buy you a beer. Thank you for considering!

In Steam, I think it is possible in your game settings to apply for beta versions of a particular game.

    All I meant was this:

    this.jpg

This way people can play the last stable build or the newest experimental build with ''some shitty untextured vehicles with no interiors''.

    Edit:

I would opt in for something like that. The way it should be done in my opinion is list known bugs as a news post somehow, to the testing group.

Honestly i would rather deal with the 5 impatient ones than with the 1000 more bug reports of things you already know are broken... on the other side it is at Alpha stage and things can be broken sometimes.

But i wouldn't see DayZ as an example. Their experimental builds aren't game breaking all the time, they are rather stable unlike BeamNG it seems.

I guess it would be a big help already if you guys could keep up with a weekly report just so people know what happened in a week instead of being quiet or giving infos out in a Screenshot thread / Hirochi Sunburst thread.

We had a list of known bugs stickied when we first released the game... guess who ignored it when they hit the "New Thread" button? Everyone.

If you could produce this, this game would be better. A experimental branch/patch would not only allow you to know the bugs coming from players, but will also allow you to know and get a general feel on how it looks and plays to the Community. I've talked with the devs of Dayz myself not once but a few times about the experimental release. And they have told me it's the best thing that they decided for the quality of their product, it's allows them (and you) to release your current state of work, with all the bugs and untextured vehicles, but at the same time you can get feed back from your tens of thousands of customers knowing the issues before you release into stable.

So yeah Gabe, I think this idea would be best for BeamNG. And I do think the demand is high enough.

This is why I hate the internet, because some people act so entitled it makes me sick. These devs can go about making this game however they please. We can give our input but that won't really change how they go about releasing updates.

They want to put out something that is quality and not just rushed out crap. So you might have to wait. So what, go play some other games and hop on this when you're bored and just want to break stuff until there is more to do than just crashing aka the race update
