Cool! Can't wait for the improvements in cornering lights.

Meanwhile I looked in the changes made in V4 and there are few issues (apart from mentioned earlier 800 and K series).

    1. I series - high beams are too small.
    2. Roamer - in prefacelift both low and high beams are shifted too much to the right, in facelifted low beams are shifted too much to the right where high beams are pointing too low. Also facelifted lights still don't have that whitish colour :p
    3. New Pessima - low beams are pointing way too low in my opinion.
    4. D series - in Early Front Facia there is missing left light flare for high beams.

Speaking of light flares. I don't know why you changed them to be exactly the same for low and high beams. It looks strange especially when driving with AI.

I also quite hope that FPS will be improved somtimes even takes upto 15 FPS like 60 to 45 or with alot of AI 45 to 30

the performance impact that this mod was present on @PostmortemSlayer 's version of this mod

right now the current solution is to set shadow visibility to partial (the only downside to this solution is that the headlight beams would look odd)

Thank you for telling me all of this :) Ill fix them with the next update. For the flares, im a little bit confused, I thought they were like an extra effect on the beams instead of the headlight housing. Ill figure that out too.

For this, I might have a solution but after experimenting, there wasnt much of a performance uplift. I changed the resolution of the beams from 1024px to 512, on some i got it as low as 256 but there was no effect on fps. So I think its just that it has to cast a lot of shadows. If I drive at night, I usually turn off the foglamps and that seems to help a little. But with the lighting update (pbr I think), the fps actually improved a bit.
I can run abt 5 - 6 cars in wcusa with a 970 at night at about 30 fps downtown and like 45 on the rest. (im using a 3440x1440 screen though so thats quite heavy to run)

A mix, ultra lighting, everything else set on high / medium. Ambient oclusion on, aa on, grass set to about 0.3, dynamic reflections on (0.4 detail, 128 resolution i think, 1 update date and 200m range). If I overclock my 970, I get 10% more fps so about 50 ish fps with traffic. For the most part my oc is stable but sometimes its unstable and normally I dont oc it. Planning on getting a 12600k or 12700k (still dont know) with 32gb ram and 3060ti or 3070, mostly for beamng because yes :)

    WCUSA, dockyard. (didnt oc it)

My graphics settings. With traffic and headlights, I get about 30 ish fps. For me, jungle rock island is the most demanding because of the trees and grass. Not bad for a 6 year old system tbh lol.

    That’s crazy. I got a 2060 and I get 50 fps with 4 cars in Utah

Oh, what resolution are you using? mine is just a bit under 4k. Also you run on a mobile 2060, so dont expect it to be the same as a desktop 2060. I recommend you upgrade to 16gb as soon as possible, it will improve your fps by quite a bit.

    I found few more issues.

    1. In the bus if we turn on high beams, light for low beams will turn off. If you look at headlamps you'll see that in that vehicle both low and high beams are turned on. Also high beams light cone is too small in my opinion.
    2. In H-series flares on both new and old passenger facia headlights don't change position when we turn on high beams.
    screenshot_2022-02-20_00-47-56.png

Speaking of performance. There are few cars where high beams are on with low beams (like Bluebuck, GM, Sunburst and few more). In all of them whole headlight will be broken anyway, so it isn't possible to have only broken low beam and working high beam. So there is my question: What if in these cars instead of projecting two separate light cones with shadows for both of them, they would have one light cone with one combined texture?
Is this could improve performance at all?

For the low and high beam textures, for some (like the etk800), when you use the highbeam, the lowbeam turns off which means that only 1 texture is on. For some others like the sunburst, when we use the highbeams, both of them turn on. For most, only 1 beam texture is on. For the sunburst, when we use the highbeam, both the projectors and the reflectors turn on which means both beams are on. A bit confusing but yes

I also have a 2060 that is overclocked that drops to approximately 20 fps after spawning 5 cars

(it might be cooling because it reaches 86c and stays there under heavy load)

Oh wow, 20fps? I think you should clean your laptop. My old laptop thermal throttles quite a bit and my Mac under any load will thermal thottle. ie. when i play gta, fps is 60-75 then after only 5 mins, it drops down to 20 and power consumption drops to only like 12watts. I highly suggest you clean it and if you are comfortable with it, change the thermal paste.

From my experience, you just need to be careful with plastic clips. I opened a few laptops now and so far, I havent broken any clips but I have snapped one thin plastic part. But as long as you do it slowly and carefully, you should be fine.
