I think that you could add some more european/japaneese/korean 90/00s cheap cars like the deawoo lanos, mazda 626 and peugeot 203 style cars. Or you could also add some more family cars, like wagons and minivans and crossovers. I think that theese kinds of cars will add more depth and more of the realistic factor. Newer cars, of course, like the etk 800 series and the cherrier vivace are nice but i think that those slightly older european/japaneese/korean cars will look better in the game and make a lot of sense. I dont have any ideas for brand names and configs but i think cars based on theese will fit very well. --- Post updated --- Nice idea. But i don't think that pre-war cars fit a lot in the game. If you make a more 1960s mini morris version of this (Poole Tiny, for example) it might even work --- Post updated --- 1998-2002 Cosom 848 Based on the 1998-2002 Mazda 626 european version. Just had another idea. We may have truly small/lightweight cars in BeamNG, like the Piccolina and the Pigeon/Wigeon duo, but none of them is a true sports car at this weight and size. I therefore believe that a small, 600-700kg, mid-engined sports car would be amazing in BeamNG. If anything, this car niche isn't represented in BeamNG yet and, with the famous crash model and the newfound handling model of this sim, I'm very curious about finding out how good such a car handles and crashes in BeamNG. And for simplifying the creation process, this car can have the existing Ibishu 1.5 DOHC and 2.0 DOHC Inline-4s along with their 5-Speed/Sport 5-Speed Manual transmissions. The idea came to my mind after watching the TommyKaira ZZ in this video!
The problem is that weight and stiffness are related, if you put too much stiffness on not enough weight the car will wobble (it's more complex than that but that's basically what happens), so to make such a light car it needs a low amount of nodes with not very stiff beams, which is why cars like the genesis f2 of lucasBE wobbles so much.
It's something about the physics refresh rate too, if it was higher it would permit lower weights but it would require changing basically everything and would increase a lot the required specs. Keep in mind i don't know much about this, that's only what i heard. Maybe someone more knowledgeable could go in further detail.
Idk. I just tested the Blackpool Superlite mod (which weighs a bit less than my proposed car, at about 500-550kg) and didn't notice any wobbles... Probably the car isn't stiff enough?
It's definitely possible to make a small light car since it won't have a big amount of nodes and won't need to be super stiff, but something like a formula 2 car would be hard because the shape is bigger and more complex and it should be VERY stiff.
So it's all down to the complexity of the shapes of the body panels and the chassis members. That's what I understood from your sayings at least.
why not? BeamNG's probably the best game out there for simulating all the wobblyness of the chassis, body, and suspension, and even the weird drivetrain layouts a lot of cars had then.
I see. Thank you! Yeahhh! If anything, the classic car mod of CrashHard gives us a basic idea of what to expect from all the aspects of a car from that era. Plus, the Straight-8 will make a great rivalry with the newly discovered V8. Not to mention that the Straight-8, along with the V16, will also be making for some epic 1930s aero race cars (since BeamNG is also having its aerodynamic model remade).
