How am I more excited for 0.26 than for 0.25 now? Anyways, 2022 is looking like an awesome year for BeamNG.
Guys, this confirms it, the update WILL be 0.25. Everyone stay calm, I know this is big news. Are there any features or big additions we don't know about yet? I don't want to know what it is, if there is one, i just like the sense of mystery if there is one
Maybe also a japan map? For every fan of forza horizon would have their long awaited map! (joke aside, a mexico map would be extremely interesting, even if th already did it) Best way to inflate the hype with one 307x17 image, 5129pixels and three colors only.
So tdev just goes and casually confirms tire thermals and some sort of work towards scratches in 0.26 like it's nothing, all we had to do was ask Which made me think: does BeamNG currently differentiate between metal and plastic? (I have no idea how it all works internally but the plastic bumpers bend pretty similarly to metal parts and don't crack, so I suspect not.) I'd like to baselessly speculate that they're working on more in-depth material settings that would result in more detailed physical properties for metal/plastic/cloth maybe and also allow having realistic scratches on all of those materials in the future.
nodes are already defined as to whether they're plastic, metal, rubber, wood, etc. but otherwise the properties of beams generally defines the strength of the material.
I just to ask, and i do apologise for being somewhat late, but how far off the the horizon is more indepth engine damage or even carburettor simulation. Gotta love a car that wont hot start
All those feature he talked about have been in development for a very long time and he wouldn't say they were coming in 0.26 if they weren't almost done.
ayrbaggs//???/?? Now, to be serious, I want to say what has been suggested a ton that I really do think could improve driving and the game's realism in all. rain and dynamic surface... uh... slipperiness? I actually do not know how much this has been said and if the devs have already answered it then tell me!
Still probably the biggest technical update since the move to Torque3d, which must be an absolute monster to test even if it is nearing completion. Plus, "confirmed to be work-in-progress" is a lot different from "confirmed for the next update in 3 months," features get teased and then delayed or shelved all the time which is probably why they're usually reluctant to say anything
Me, when the new car/another fine remaster getting released: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/GToC-LLM9Cg
Also ive one more question; This new "Sunny and dry" map, will it be the same old 1.6 sq mile size, Italy's size or somewhere in between, you can only fit some much into the old size and i dont mean to sound rude but it does leave left to be desired, and what sort of stage is it at? Planning or modelling or is it a secret?
Two of them, however, are confirmed for the next update in 3 months: Thermal simulation: Beginnings of mud and scratch implementation:
