My only few complains is that the driver cam likes to shake, and when you crash the car, it falls, the side and rear glass have a broken texture that can be barely seen, and the rear glass when broken looks like it added a broken glass decal to the glass, like you can still see reflections from the glass {see the color difference and the thing in the middle of the glass) and also the fact that there are barely any "base" or non-customized configs. Not sure if you get an extra suitcases and a roof rack when you first buy your Skoda 1203 with 3 row seats.. technically i can remove them but that is inconvenient. and also not sure if the "VAN" are non-customized models too because of the description (beamng vehicle descriptions needs to be more technical unless it is for a customized config by the way.), the tarp roof should use the "Paint 2" color instead because i dont want it to be the same color as the body, the "deck roof frame" looks like it has no texture (unsure if it is actually no texture or it is just orange), the chassis and transmission texture looks like plastic, and it doesnt have many colors preset, im not sure if skoda 1203 are sold in only these few colors though. But i think there are a green colored one. That is all, it is okay whether you want to fix it or not, its just a minor bug anyway. I had fun with this car. I like the details the mod has, like a swinging car key, working shifter and others.
The driver cam is a bit special here, it is more springy in the up/down direction, to simulate a soft seat. It falls because the driver falls out of the windshield in stronger impacts without seatbelts The glass - true. Not sure how to fix it actually, even though I set opacity of the broken middle to zero, it still leaves that faint trace...I might look into this when I have more time, as it's pretty annoying. You can not only remove items in a configuration and swap out whatever you don't like, you can also save the configuration (by clicking on the name of the config and hitting save). If you feel like you have a config you like better than what I put there, you can copy over the pc config file to the mod folder and rewrite it (if you want to be super consistent with it, you can even snap a new picture in the garage to match what you did). I didn't quite understand what the issue is with the VAN. It's a config that has blinded windows and no seats, is there something missing? About the "beamng vehicle descriptions needs to be more technical unless it is for a customized config by the way"...eh, I'm not a dev for beamng, just a modder, so it's kinda arbitrary what "needs" to be done. I don't think there's any repercussions for the description not being technical enough. I might add more color presets, that's a great point. I kinda gave up on it around the time I was creating the main texture for the body, as I wasn't sure what various textures and layers would do to the exact color. But now that it's done, I might go back and create more colors. Again, you can mix your own and add them to the bunch.
god this is so long, to add one more thing: remove the "licenseName":"22443-pickup" and the "paints":[ {paint stuff } ], in the .PC file so the car can be paintable from the spawning menu and also have random license plates. --- Post updated --- oh, though most beamng cars, official or mod, also have driver cams that doenst fall off,, so i think its good to follow them, or have two different driver cams (not sure if its possible) for one that can fall of and one that cant. about the VAN, nothing is wrong with it. just the description, make it feel like a customized config.
I see! I'll make the cars paintable (but only generic, i.e. ambulance, police etc. shouldn't be paintable, as their colors are chosen specifically as a part of the paintjob) and remove the license plates. I'll make the cam not being able to fall out.
oh right.. i found another issue: the gauges is saying "IMPORT FAILED". By the way dont let these issues discourage you from working on the mod, in whole it is actually quite fun, the issues are not too major and can be ignored.
This is a bug I don't understand...every time I'd clear cache, the game randomly fails to load a texture or two, but loads it just fine if you reload it through the material editor. Not sure what's going on. Maybe I'll pack all the textures as dds sometime. I know it's a hassle to reload textures. If something fails to load, go to the material editor, find the material with the problem and click on the reload button - it should reload all textures that say missing or failed to import.
