Update Speculation thread

im gonna be real for a second here, as much as i am hyped for the new car, there are 2 aspects that could possibly ruin this car for myself, and most likely for many others too.

First would be the engine, after reading that the devs have worked on this car for close to 8 months, if it will have a V8 engine, that would be incredibly disappointing, as we already have so many of them and a lot of people ask for V10s and V12s.

Second aspect is the rear, if it looks exactly like the concept art from the teaser (which i really doubt but you never know), that would also sorta ruin it, since it really wouldnt fit the smooth style of the front end, and its just a little too edgy/flashy/over the top for my personal taste, of course since this is pretty much a bias input on the car, it doesnt apply to everyone, but im sure many others would agree.

but all in all, beam devs are still amazing and im still grateful to have such an awesome game that will help me in becoming a good driver in the future.

 

Anybody else still holding out for better anti-aliasing this update? Would be a shame if nothing came to compliment the better PostFX

 

I'm extremely curious what new content the Covet is gonna have since thus far we've only seen the MR turbo. I really hope for some new, smaller engines for the lower spec trims and additional customizability

 

me as well, I will love some base model 1.0 inline 3 Carby thing that is just go awful its good.

And a sedan or 4 door hatch body

Most likely next fortnight will be another teaser maybe then will get covet teaser.

I'd expect one more teaser next week before we see the update, I'm thinking we'll get it mid to late June

 

I mean, if the front is very Lotus inspired, the rear could share some design cues? Probably not from Lotus, but I believe it will look closer this kind of styling

 

Could be. The Scintilla looks fairly simple, so yes, it could very well have some Emira styling cues too.

 

im almost 100% certain the wing will be an active one, since i saw a picture posted by a dev showing the sbr4 spoiler .lua file, under that was a second .lua file, with the middle part blurred out, could possibly be the lua for the new car

 

but the wing in the screenshot is clearly fixed, there will probably be 2 options.

 

Pretty sure there was also an image wich said somthing like pyrocharge or smth. I hope there will be a hybrid and mayb elec car. Would be sick to see hybrids tho, even in other cars.

I could see the update today or Tuesday - despite mod approvals neither of these affect the Covet, and iirc recent rule of thumb, only mods that will become outdated quickly won't be approved.

 

Weren’t you saying you thought this would be DLC a few days ago because the game “can’t pay the bills?” Please, make up your mind.

 

I didn’t say that Beamng is suited for DLC’s, as I really don’t like that idea either. I was just ranting on forza in general lol

 

Pyrotechnic charges was what it was. I wonder if it has to do with the Hustle and Bustle campaign or something of that nature.

Still, not that I work for anyone or have any real advice on video game development - I would say merchandising would probably bring in a fair bit more money than DLC - especially premium stuff. Most of us would probably buy at least one or two items from that, offering sustaining support from the playerbase without locking anything behind a paywall. I'd 100% buy die-cast models of various BeamNG vehicles.

That would be an interesting system - I'd love to see it in game. Hopefully it's only a few hours?
