Beam ran ok on Manjaro when I tried it through Proton 7, I wonder why they now choose to make a native Linux binary. Probably Steam Deck compatibility.
Even as a fan of electric cars, I am still hoping for an V12 engine. A V10 of course would be nice too but it lacks the reputation of the V12. V12 is in some ways the pinnacle of car internal combustion engines and there are very few types of cars that make sense with an V12 engine: Very old ones due to poor power output of engines at the time High end luxury cars High End Sports cars.... which we are getting and since the Bollide already is V8 powered, not to mention countless other cars in the game, having more cylinders would be cool. Of course, there is the theoretical option of even more cylinders like the W16 but getting a good sound sample from one of these is even more difficult than a V12 so I would not get my hopes up. After all, the difficulty in access to good sound samples was/is one of the reasons for the devs somewhat difficulties with adding more than 8 cylinders to the game.
If we had to take "your money" every time you said "My money is on" and failed, you would already have 0 dollars hahahaha xD
Like the people who say "no update until next absurdly long amount of time now stfu because I hate fun" are any better
A V12 would indeed be nice but the existing V12 sound sample doesn't convince me one bit. It sounds nothing like a V12 should. The V10 sound sample is great, though, so that's why I bet the Scintilla will have a V10.
So next week it is… Can‘t wait for all the stay calm memes and Devblog Rickrolls to come in… I‘m super exited, a huge thank you to everyone in the Dev team!
Just them adding Linux support for the game, it's the process if you want your players to have the choice of which version they wanna launch. Quick summary, on Steam there's as far as i know two ways to have multiple versions of a game, one which consists of going into the properties of the game and selecting a "beta" branch (first screen) or directly a choice when launching the game (Beamng has none so it launches directly), with ETS2 for example you can choose between modded or not, Dx11 or other stuff (second screen) So now if you want to know what is what and where, it's simple (see third screen) Those are the versions you can choose in the properties (first screen) And this is what happens when installing the game, it has VC 2019 and DirectX because the game can't work without them but it's only one time install and then there's the Windows which is the actual game, so the new Linux version will i'm pretty sure work like ETS2, you'll be able to choose
Does rating a post agree that says update today but not posting count? Honestly annoyed the updates coming next week since I’m getting a procedure on my eye so I’ll be blind most of next eeek.
