WIP Beta released "Forza" steering for keyboard and gamepad

It works on 0.23.2 for me.

 

But the UI is not working. So I can't turn it on or off

Hey man, I know this thread is a little old but I just wanted to say I really appreciate your work on this mod! I'm surprised it's not a lot more popular. This really improves the enjoyability of the game since I mainly play with an Xbox controller, and makes a big difference. The mod is still a little rough around the edges, but I'm definitely keeping it full time! I was wondering if you will continue to work on it or plan to make any updates? Some minor issues I can think of to improve upon is small twitchiness in the wheels, a little too much understeer when getting on the throttle while exiting a corner, and the wheels "return to center" feature being a little too fast. Besides that, great work on this! I'd be happy to support you.

 

Isn't there also a mod on the repo titled "steering angle grip limiter"? Or is that this mod?

Umm... for some reason, I have the latest version. I checked the info.json the version string is 2.15. But on your dropbox it's 2.00. And the description is different too. Here's the screnshot

 

where do i put this mod for it to work (in what file) and how does it work?

 

in the game mod manager, there's a open folder that gives you the exact place

I had to move the mod here, they didn't want input filter trickery on the mod, and normal car sensor don't give all the needed info to make it a widget like the cruise control app.

I'll try fix breaking bugs, but can't solve many of the issues on the lua side of things.

 

After 0.24 update steering became a lot more slow. I was using this mod for drifting and rallying, and now it is a lot harder to control car. Can you look in this issue?

 

there's a chance that it's due the update resetting the input filter to default instead of direct

 

This mod works nicely, however, I can't find the "Simple Steering C" in the ui app

 

this is an amazing mod, i have a wheel but sometimes i rather fiddle with controller if not racing or drifting. does de ui let you adjust settings? , the ui as the previous poster said is not being shown, could you provide what to tweak manually in the files?.

its really good for racing but for drifting its too aggressive the stabilization. i think it would need to start fading the stabilizing at certain point so i can myself oversteer a lil bit, whats happening its that i input at the same time as the stabilizer when i want to change direction of the car like trying to go to the outer apex of the curve i took and its doing too much oversteer

 

The 0.25 update caused the mod to break the game, probably had something to do with the new countersteer assist. I hope you can fix this because this mod is really a game changer for me

ikik its a old thread but i genuinely love this

 

the underster oversteer protection they implemented in the base game is lacking a *ton* of finesse, for example there's no correction for rear grip, so every single powerful car is full send into snap oversteer as soon the grip transition back to front mid corner.

they reworked all the input file and I understand very little of it, so idk if I can figure out how to integrate it back again

 

rejoice! 0.27 fixed all previous complaints, now default steering is smooth and this mod is no longer required
