Failed to start game (unknown error)

Tried downloading the experimental version of BeamNG.drive from Steam. I get this error message upon starting it:

As nobody else has reported this issue to my knowledge, I fear it may be a problem with my personal system and not the game, but any help pointing me to a solution would be much appreciated

 

Try to re-install and see if problem persists.

 

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried that but unfortunately it didn't help.

I've tried everything that the Steam help page suggested yet the problem persists :/

 

Have you tried Using the "verify integrity of game cache" feature?

 

Yeah I saw that on some other posts, however it didn't help.

I tried it twice, before I uninstalled and then once I'd re-installed the game but sadly it still doesn't work.

I had a look at the game files, I found the BeamNG.drive.exe and it looks like this:



When I run it this dialogue box pops up:



Don't know if that's of any use but I thought I'd share in case!

From steam, delete local game files. Then go to the steamapps folder and confirm everything is gone. Then what you may have to do is tell steam to install the non experimental version of the game first, confirm that works, then install experimental after.

 

Thank you, however that didn't work either :/

I made sure that and the game worked fine without the experimental version installed, but once I installed it the error message returned again.

 

Switch to the normal version let that finish "updating" than "get ready to launch" don't bother playing, than switch back to the unstable version,

worked for me when it forgot 90% of my cars+tracks data and broke the game to hell, so maybe this will help you fix this issue. [It also worked for me when vitrifaction didn't /=]

Basically
Try The Following

1. Switch back to stable build
2. Let download all files for that until it says it's ready to play
3. Switch back to unstable build
4. Let that do it's thing if it has to
5. Now attempt to play

Edit: It actually worked for me with 2-3 issues a couple times. and let me get the game running.

 

Thanks, but this didn't fix the issue either!

It seem that the experimental branch of the game breaks my BeamNG.drive.exe program but I'm not sure why that'd be the case or why I seem to be the only person with the issue :/
I've tried every combination of uninstalling, re-downloading and applying the experimental branch but every time it fails!
I'd really like to try out the game but I guess I'll have to wait until the devs reply to my support ticket

Okay, so devs haven't replied yet so while I'm waiting, anyone else got any suggestions?!

2. What is your OS? Maybe that is related to the issue? although I dought it.

My OS is Windows 7 Professional 64bit

 

The thing is, what you've posted isnt a BeamNG error and isnt anything to go on, have you tried launching the game manually rather than through steam? Is the game installed to the default directory? Admin? Torque3d log?

 

• I've tried booting the game manually but the error pops up (see above post)
• The game isn't installed in the default steam library on C: but I haven't had a problem with the current library as all my Steam games are installed there.
• I have Admin control and I've tried launching the game through Steam as an admin and manually as an admin.
