It's probably because people don't realize it already got updated but it's deep in the thread and people don't want to dig for it. It's here: https://beamng.com/threads/fso-polonez-aka-fps-trapez.82134/page-30#post-1425563 Page 30 of this thread. If an update hits, check if the post has been edited recently. If it did get edited, that means the embedded download is for the newest version.

Technically, you can still use the old, initial version of the real-world badges patch on the latest version of the mod. But there are a few reasons to update it whenever a significant mod update gets approved on the repository: The old version of the patch won't add in the real-world badges and lettering for other body styles added in the latest mod update (namely the Atu sedan and Kombi station wagon). When I initially released it, it only factored in the 5-door hatchback (from the MR'78 and MR'89, to the Caro and Caro Plus, and everything else in between) as that was the only body style available back then. Some of the textures are changed in updates to the mod, and unsurprisingly enough, this has happened before to two of them: pn_emblem.dds and pn_emblem2_d.dds. Hence why I updated the patch to ensure it is fully compatible with the latest version of the mod. This one is kinda obvious, but I tend to make a few more revisions that I previously forgot in the initial release. For instance, while I restored the Sony logo for the radio, I forgot about the Pioneer window decal, until I fixed that last month for the most recent mod update. Hopefully I explained why you should be aware of the update to the patch when appropriate. And of course, I'll be sure to inform everyone whenever I update it (like last month)
The handling is a bit of a mess, it's very soft and bouncy and the rear axle slides left and right making it very inconsistent at the limit. Was the real FSO Polonez this bad? I find that hard to believe, but I wouldn't know having not been to Poland.
It is really crappy when you drive it in the game so as the real life polonez. you can ask Marf about it.
I already explained this before, the suspension irl is ripped without changes from another, much older car, the fitment is not the best and neither are the attachment points, so it can't possibly handle great
Damn it! That's a shame, I really like the design of it but I guess it's just a piece of junk after all...
Well it isn't a piece of junk for polish people's opinions (some of 'em say its crappy and others say its good)
i love how some people are complaining with how the suspension works in this mod the funny part is this mod probably has the most realistic **STOCK** suspension ever most mods i had dealed with had stiff suspension we all love today but i do understand them as sometimes its sorta annoying (the amount of times i spun out is insane) still i love this mod keep it up marf

Yeah I'm not disagreeing but it's so strange to see that people seem to think it's a hard to handle car. It does fine within legal limits, hell, it does fine over them too.
I've heard skoda was the best amount all commie junkies and Dacia was on the opposite, except the Trabant back to the mod, the seats spike in heavy crash and could you fix it in future version? Thanks
I would argue that late 80s era moskviches were the worst, they rode terribly, had awful gas mileage, were not reliable. Lada 2109/2108/21099 on the other hand, were the pinnacle of Lada, they were fully in house made, even Porsche had a hand in it during the development! Unfortunately, they rusted like hell I would have loved to own a Skoda, but Tatra had the peak of my attention with their streamlined body and air cooled engines Wartburg was the most oddball And Polonez was very quirky for us
Would it be possible to add suitcases to the trunk of the wagon like the Oldsmobile mod has? and maybe a PL sticker on the rear window?
