First off, I am incredibly excited that the development team switched over to CryEngine and decided to seriously revamp everything. Great work, keep it up! Here are my suggestions, I feel most of them are quite important to the gameplay. - Load securement system. Have a cargo camera (or some sort of free cam in the cargo area) which allows you to manipulate tie downs or chains. Say you select chains or tie downs from a menu, and you can put a chain or tie down from one node to another. For tie downs, you could have it so you need to select 4 nodes, to run it over top of the load. Also, for dry vans have it so you can tie down a load using the same system, but to either the floor or wall, depending on what the developer of that asset decides. - Compressed air systems. Air suspension and air brakes, maybe go as far as having brakes over heat and fade, aswell as failure (melted lines, etc) Or say if you blow an air bag you start losing pressure. Also, include a 1/8 second or so delay as most air brakes have. - Player injury? Are we going to be able to injure ourselves from accidents? - Automatic transmissions, this is pretty important. It would be nice if 3rd party developers could change the shift ranges etc fully. - Damage to the drivetrain. Suspension, steering components, drive shafts, axle shafts, axle housings, the list goes on and on. Atleast some of the more major ones, like your drive shafts and suspension. Or even engine damage. Have engines create heat depending on RPM and throttle input. Imagine you damage your radiator, and your engine starts to overheat and backfire, burn oil, etc until it finally seizes or dies. Or say if you have mileage included (I remember seeing customization and money and what not somewhere) because you own your vehicle, you could have random failures or deterioration, like the valvetrain getting loose and tired, blue clouds from the exhaust. Suspension could get springy, clutch could get worn and slip, etc. - Revamped, more clear, organized and detailed tutorials using the new 3d editor, such as a step by step tutorial on how to make atleast one of the original vehicles. 3d model and all, down to how to make an animated dash cluster, and so on. - NEW DIFF CODE!!! Desperately need the vehicles to handle better at any sort of speed.. - A large commercial vehicle, a few loads, and a way to load it. Flatdeck or dry van, a couple pallets, and a forklift made by pro's would be nice.
I like a lot of these ideas, but I don't know if they're gonna be as focused on vehicle+vehicle interaction (as in loads and tie-downs). It seems like they're making more of a simulator. I'm guessing that they will still introduce a system for stuff like that though. Also, +1 the player injury. Not for the violence aspect, but to really understand how humans react to certain crashes. It might be hard to make, but it would be so cool!
Awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing it, especially after your post on the little Pigeon. It would be fun to strap something in the back and try to navigate a dangerous narrow road like this one. (imported from here)Don't mess up !
Hahaha true. I could easily see the Civetta in a rally skin. That would be so much fun to race around! If not the Civetta, I hope they come up with another super fast rally car. I'd like to see something like the Audi 90 or Ford Rs200.
Now that is a nasty road! I'm going to find a way of building something like that for one of the terrains It won't fit the industrial site but later on ...
Ah, it would be awesome to have something like Yungas road in BeamNG Should be good fun with a semi on that road
Hahaha awesome! I can't wait to see it. I actually noticed something similar in the video "Rallying a Street Car." There was one particular stretch of road that reminded me of it. I think it was toward the end of the video. Anyway, I'm excited! Best of luck!!!
