Seems about correct. I pull about 40-50 FPS on DRI at 1080p, down into the 27-33 range at 2K.

    Generally the way it goes is 580 ~ 670 ~ 760.

Each new generation a card is about equivalent to one lower tier of the new gen.

so just buy the latest X80 model and you win.

Still the 770 looks like quite a fair trade off between price and performance, I could order two of them right now, two 780's will have to wait until next payday.

Whats the problem with the 780 and direct x9? should that put me off?

unusually low frame rates, even weirder, some people have found that underclocking their CPU fixes it. BeamNG currently uses DirectX9. Dunno if its hardware or NVidia just not bothering to make a proper driver or what, it just plain doesn't seem to work as expected.

yes but I would have been pissed if I upgraded to 760 not knowing my old 580 is about the same lol

ok so the 770 doesn't have these issues? If not then I guess I have made my mind up what cards to get :D

It certainly put me off, as Desktop 1 down there was purpose-built for Beam. I remember both jaimswallace/DevKryton and Nadeox1 complaining about performance issues. I don't think they have the same cards but they are definitely both GK110 parts. 780(Ti)/Titan. 770 is GK104 and doesn't have issues. From what we've seen of Maxwell so far it looks like they also won't have problems and with a mid Sept. launch date I'd hold off and see what they bring to the table. From the 750 I'd assume low power consumption/temps, great for SLI.

looks like I best hang on until the 900 series comes out, though I guess the prices for the higher end ones are going to be crazy money.

Also is anyone else running a SLI rig with BeamNG? If so, are you noticing any performance issues with regards to the water like I noticed? I don't know if its worth going with SLI again if its going to cause issues with BeamNG. Though it wasn't an issue before the pre race update. I'm a bit miffed about the whole thing to be honest. I don't understand why the performance has degraded so much on the stock maps. I wish I had the old version of DRI to test as I'm sure it wasn't a lag pit like the current version. Meh, thanks for the input so far anyway guys :)
