Greetings, I've noticed that some users when posting their mods will put the download in Google Drive. Why use Google Drive opposed to just attaching/embedding the file directly into beamng.com? Are they any privacy/security risks when downloading files from Google Drive? Are users able to see my info (name, e-mail) when I visit their Google Drive page? Thank you, -Sheridan P.
BeamNG does not recommend downloading mods or content from any other place than www.beamng.com. I would avoid it for your own safety.
In other words - Google Drive links on the forums are generally safe, especially if there are accompanying pictures and the page looks generally professional.
Alright thank you! I've been downloading from BeamNG forums only. --- Post updated --- Alright, I'll keep this in mind. Thank you!
There is a filesize limit to forum attachements, bigger mods need to be hosted externally. On the repository you can only put stuff without copyright issues (no real brands, no ports from other games, ...) so that isn't always an option either. The uploader can't see anything at all, I haven't even found a way to see the amount of downloads on my stuff.
