I was talking about the 800 series. We have multiple WRC cars from the same time period, why can't we have two DTM cars from completely different time periods?

If they make a sedan 800, they could make a DTM version... although now that i think about it, it looks a bit too far from the standard car, so I'm not sure it's likely to happen

Whats so unlikely? There isn't a single car in the 800's segment that is wagon only, and the 3/4-series, A4, and C-class all race in touring car series.

k-series gt3/gte would make more sense since we got that as a mod for the scintilla and its quite popular so why wouldnt they jump on the bandwagon, also a why would right hand drive etk be obsolete ?

RHD is only in UK (and former UK territories, excluding NA) and Japan.

I can't really see ETK have a 3 cylinder engine, just because BMW has like 2 or 3.

I can totally see the 800 having a 3-cylinder because let's not forget that the absolute base engines of the D-Segment Luxury Sedans (or Compact Luxury Sedans) have around 1.4 - 1.5 liters of displacement because not everyone wants to/can buy the 2-liter versions due to taxing. The Audi A4 has a 1.4l, the Mercedes-Benz C180/200 have a 1.5l Mild-Hybrid I4 unit.
Plus, as I've already mentioned a gazillion times before, if the ETK 3-cylinder is a 1.5l unit (along with the Twin-Turbo V8 being a 4-liter), then the modern German "Lego" way of engine design and construction (in which each cylinder displaces half a liter) will be fully represented in the BeamNG lore.

Modern DTM cars barely share anything with their road-going counterparts.
It's not a car with better suspension, stripped interior, an upgraded engine, and a rollcage like some other touring championships (If I'm not mistaken a GT3 car is pretty much just that, and RWD).
Rather, it's a carbon-fiber chassis with a custom engine, suspension and drivetrain, with some exterior panels that look like the road car. kind of like NASCAR in this aspect, less like GT classes.
I think that a GT-spec car for the K-series is more likely if anything.

What would make a 3 cylinder not a priority is that BMW uses 3 cylinders only on the 1 and 2 series. The most known 3 cylinder 3 series was the F30 318i, and the latest 3 series dropped the 3 cylinder engine.

Since a 3 cylinder was barely used on a 3 series (ETK 800 equivalent), that gives very few reasons for the developers to add a 3 cylinder as well. As you stated before, other cars in that class still have 4 cylinders. The more probable option (if a less powerful engine is even considered) is a downsized 4 cylinder related to the 2.0 in the ETK 800.

What if I told you I thought about the room at some moment?? Hahahaha!! :p:p:p
    Your creation is amazing!!! ;););)

Yep, a row of black Ramplow T-Series trucks going through it would suit it nicely!!

Now, going back to speculation, Chickenwing's answer to a comment of mine (his answer is related to ETA of any T H I C C content we all might expect) got me thinking about the upcoming new Pick-Up Truck: we saw the desert/Baja racer variant of it 3 Tuesdays ago and it looked pretty well trimmed too, didn't look like the devs had just started to develop it.
Now, supposing that a modern Pick-Up Truck has about the same difficulty level of setting up its driveline components and Driving & Safety/Race Electronics as the Bastion (which was teased to us on September 28th 2021 and debuted on December 20th) and supposing that the car in general is already being developed in all its aspects (which makes sense since the Dev team has a few smaller groups, each preparing specific things/parts on a car), I think that its arrival can be set at either just before the Christmas holidays, with the 0.27 Update ,or the 0.28 Update on March. Both look very possible.
    --- Post updated ---
You're right in each and every word of yours. But that's exactly my reason why the 800 could have a 1.5 3-cylinder: it's bang on in the same time period as its basis of inspiration and it's also not a very large and heavy car anyway, so it can make do with such an engine too.
Apart from that though, the game has no 3-cylinder being this large. The largest one available right now displaces 1.2l and is installed in the FCVs. Plus, the 1.5 I3, in both gas and diesel forms, can also be used should the devs decide to add an ETK model that's not RWD.
And the "Lego", 0.5l-per-cylinder way, apart from being represented in the game, is also gonna help the younger folks among us to sharpen their calculating skills somewhat! :)

Seeing the update trends, the devs would focus more on high performance configs. An I3 would feel akward. The 3 banger would only be added, as you said, if something smaller than the 800 is made.
