off-topic, but I hope one day there will be a 90s British sports car, preferably with an i4 and center exhausts, the launch colour would be a dark pearly green

(I'm thinking of a lotus Elise arent it)

 

I hope we get a lotus esprit esque thing to compete against the bolide (and obviously beat it)

Very possible since we're talking about an off-roader. Light cages are 100% useful in such vehicles.

 

The D-series and roamer have cages for their taillights so most likely yes

 

A small and light MR car like the Elise is certainly missing as a niche from the BeamNG lore. Preferably with the Ibishu 1.5 and 2.0 DOHC I4s! Mmmm-hmmm!!
And a classic 60s FR model like the Elan would also be nice, with the 1.6 and 1.9 DOHC Miramar engines (and, why not, a 2.0 I6, once the Miramar gets fully remastered and gets its content expanded)! Plus, the backbone frame with the fiberglass bodyshell covering it is a very interesting concept that's also missing from the lore.

This is true, but all of this has been shown in-game. Sure, it's happened before, but we will get at least one of these things in the update for sure. Jared's comments on the PreRunner when it was released also lead me to believe that this was long in the making.

Yeah, a backbone frame would even be good for a soapbox racer!
This photo also shows the Chapman Strut rear suspension, so we have two unique engineering solutions in one package!

 

Yeah, tbh I just want to see a bit more diversity(?) or niece in the brands, but if one day they make a 2 seat 90s sports car I kinda don't want it to be like ibushu or anything because i feel they have enough cars and an addition such as a British brand like lotus, or idk an Australian brand or SA would be cool.

Though I'm a bit bias since my favorite car is a s1 Elise

I mean yeah, the car can be distinctively British in its lightness but I was only talking about the engines. After all, it's a Lotus (and a general of all other small British manufacturers, with Ginetta being my favourite) tradition to outsource engines because it's quite an expensive task to build one from scratch. So the Ibishu engines fit the bill nicely, I think!

lotus has pretty much just begged daddy gm/rover for motors until the s2 elise when they went to toyota so an old Miramar engine would make a lot of sense, since beam cars aren't GTA style parodies of real cars, though the Miramar was made in the 70s i think? so maybe a bit old, but idk

Yeah, the Miramar is a 60s vehicle (1963-68), so the 1.6 and 1.9 DOHC engines of it would be perfect for the FR car I just described! The picture I posted also shows the side-draft carburettors, a characteristic feature of the DOHC Miramar engines!

Regenerative braking in BeamNG regains only arround 30 % of the energy compared to values arround 70 % for real life electric vehicles.

Are you driving with a keyboard? Keyboard braking quickly reaches 100 % braking power which means that regenerative braking is cut in half as the vehicles ECU detects an emergency stop.
