Maybe we'll see the Piccobuggy with all its body panels on? Or the FPU and its various models? Who knows...
This game was most of realistic game simulators back in the 90'. But I do not fink that we will get a coach bus. And Minivan.
First time posting in this thread but it would be great if the new southern US map had a race track inspired by Willow Springs, aswell as some sort of drag strip, or even salt flat for drag racing and sand dunes like the ones in Glamis.
It would be cool, but we already kinda got a racetrack in that area (WCA's racetrack), so I don't think we'll see another one there. Racetracks tend to take up a whole lot of space, and depending upon how much the devs want to have in the new map, a racetrack would get in the way (like it does on WCA). If the new map's 2x2, it most likely won't get a racetrack - this new map is supposed to be off-road focused and there's not many options to have lots of off-road areas and a large racetrack in that small a map. If it's 4x4, I think it could get a racetrack like Willow Springs and still have enough space left over for off-roading and maybe a small town or two. Anything above 4x4 is...unlikely, IMO.
but it could be bigger, because @Nadeox1 said he needed to wait to update ssrb, so it could be something to improve quality farther away from the center, and thats why @Nadeox1 is waiting, and the new map could be the biggest yet
I feel like the map would be the most likely, see what was shown in the concept art in game. Like for the gas station, maybe with again some teaser for a car (but not a new one)
I'm sure there will be lots of racing trails, but probably mostly aimed at baja style racing. I'd be surprised if they try to put another big track in a normal map after the backlash they got for doing that to WCUSA, even if this is going to be at least 4x the size.
Oh, yeah, that is a fair point. However, I'll stick to the assumption that it'll be 4x4 for now - if it is bigger, great! It'd be fantastic for long expeditions. If not, still fine. Yeah, I think that any new big racetracks are going to be their own separate maps from now on, like Hirochi and ATT - unless we start getting really big maps.
Am I in the minority here? I really like the fact that WCUSA has a track in it, and I do not use Hirochi raceway because I don't like how limited it is for use, since it's a track only. I wish they would have added Hirochi raceway to ECUSA during its remaster.
Seeing as we have the potential modification on how heightmaps are done, allowing for non-square maps, this is actually quite possible to do properly. I don't expect it to be part of the base game, but a mod could certainly do this with the modification and combination of both maps.
It certainly made sense to include the racetrack in WCA, now that I've played career mode, but I think one of the biggest sources of the backlash against the inclusion of the racetrack in WCA was that it made the surrounding areas (especially the city) too small to be enjoyable for people who wanted an official big city. Back in the day when WCA released, it was so unoptimized that the city would lag the game if you looked at it, meaning that racing on the track wasn't very enjoyable for quite a few users, either. And, of course, the highway and city tunnels didn't exist back in the day until 0.21, making the map feel even smaller than it was. Now that WCA has been optimized better and it's got tunnels and other additions, it's a lot better to drive around in, and we've got another big-city map with Italy, so there's fewer reasons to gripe about the WCA racetrack being smack-dab in the middle of the map.
