That would be great! I cant imagine it would hurt performance too bad since the props are generally very easy to run and if its only in the local player area
Yeah and from what we’ve seen in Thursdays teaser, it might be a bit annoying driving off road if the rocks can’t be moved as there are many of them in the area we’ve seen Edit: now that I think about it maybe rolling rocks would be even harder of an obstacle to overcome
Had tested my 5600X with 3060Ti in 0.26 then 0.21 ultra settings on wcusa. The drop I had was a few 3-6 fps, same with traffic.
That would definitely add up then seeing as Stenyak said there were a lot of features that were getting in this time around because they're up to the required standards. Multiple viewports was probably working in some regard, just not well enough for a release. I'd imagine now they have cracked how to get them working and they're happy to release them. I predict we'll see them, but maybe I'll be wrong. I wouldn't be disappointed if they don't make it in, because I know once they eventually do they'll be even better Think it could be the same story with tyre thermals this update. We know they were being worked on because tdev said so here. They were likely delayed from the release of 0.26 due to just not being ready yet. Hopefully now they're ready, and will accompany the release of 0.27
Multiple viewports are already in the game and work pretty well (though definitely not perfect). They're used in the Vehicle Editor (which is inside the World Editor, lol) for orthographic views.
If I understood correctly, a product of BeamNG tech department has had this thing for a while already - https://beamng.tech/references/beamng-sigma-integrale-waste-management/
Woah, that's neat. I've not seen this before. What I was getting at is that they'll probably start using them for mirrors and such --- Post updated --- It's "hyping"
Since i started playing BeamNG.drive in middle 2016 i couldn´t remember one update which didn´t include any optimizations. To answer your question in a shorter manner: Almost certainly.
well I mean I've played for around 6-7 years and each update gets a lot of optimizations, but this seems to be the largest update yet, and the file size is gonna be huge, but I remember a dev saying that with torque3d out of the game the file size will decrease to 9 gigs, But I feel like this update will have a huge impact on performance with the sheer amount of content, so I hope they really optimize
The devs are no amateurs in my mind and already said they have this planned and worked on since a long time so i wouldn´t worry so much about that. They sure will have kept the performance and optimization in mind.. As i said: They know what they do.
