So I was looking at the mini America thread, and the author was talking about some floating point bug. like anyone would, I searched I found this thread. a Beamng team member said this about the bug That post was made in September 2020, this is December 2022. So here are the questions: Is the bug fix complete? if not, is it being worked on? is it low priority? was it remembered? was it forgotten? If being worked on, how far has the fix gotten? is it even fixable? is it a torque3d issue? My guess is that this hasn't been fixed considering that a map creator encountered it recently. Beamng, please fix
This kind of stuff takes years to fix, might require rewriting a lot of the physics engine, it's definitely not a priority now that the biggest map is Italy and it doesn't suffer from this issue
I mean, they said they've done the research, and that it'll require some more work. This means work on the fix was already started and was nearly finished. The question is why it still has not been patched. major impacted maps include: los injurus roane county, tenesse American roads Then there's the 'endless' maps like Special stage route B Endless highway This needs a fix.
No, this is not fixed completely yet. It is really complicated and since we don't feature huge maps on our own, was not a priority for us so far. We'll try to put this up on our agenda to get fixed for next year. Sorry for waiting so long. We do not want to rush something out that make everything slower, but provide a stable base engine that solves the problem for huge terrains in a fast manner.
Is this what makes all the nodes on the big maps shake? this is when the whole interior, steering wheel, etc. is shaking?
If it happens when you go far away, yep. The map gets unstable and jittery when far away from the spawn point.
