Re: General discussion chat It wont make an appearance on my desktop, but i have used it on a windows tablet before and it was super nice there. So if i ever end up with a tablet i will use it. Not so sure about on a laptop, i wouldn't want to get the screen smudged.
Re: General discussion chat Yeah, whatever. I tried it on a 160GB HDD I took out of my old E6500 (Installed 7 on it, forgot to activate it and never used it so I don't really care.) and put the 10 Preview on it since the disk wouldn't even load with my SSD in there. (For some reason that thing really hates Windows 8 even though it works with 7 on it.) It was very slow, the task bar stopped working, etc. From what I saw it wasn't that different from 8.1 apart from the start menu so I don't really care. I put the SSD and HDD back into my laptop so now it's back on the good old fashioned 7/XP dualboot.
Re: General discussion chat Been playing around with it for a few hours now on my old laptop and it seems to be pretty good. I don't like the fact you can't get rid of the search button or desktop switcher button on the taskbar, and I don't like that you still have to swap between the old control panel and new one to do things. Other than that I think I'll definitely upgrade my laptop to it but not sure that I would on my desktop until I am forced to.
Re: General discussion chat Um, wat? That PC will probably not draw 300w. Anything that is one GPU and a normal desktop CPU (i.e no 5930k) will have a hard time hitting 500w. You can even SLI two GTX 970 STRIX along with an overclocked 4790k on one 500w PSU. Yes please. I'm getting a VM, going to put Win10 on it.
Re: General discussion chat So. These modern top down video games that appear to be rendered in a 3d engine. Well, get a load of this:
Re: General discussion chat camera is a 45 degree angle. If NPCs and statues were oriented vertically in the game space, you'd be looking at the tops of their heads rather than facial details so they tilt it backwards and you get a good look at everything. Ever notice on the old pokemon games that the NPC sprites had a head consuming 2/3rds of the sprite height, was for the same problem, lets you see unique faces for characters within a limited perspective.
Re: General discussion chat Snarky brits. And microsoft too. I'm slightly worried I may have started to install Win10 on my PC. I didn't make backups. D:
Re: General discussion chat lol, Real English. It's true though. Oh, btw, you might want to revert to 8.1 and install it on a VM. You won't want to use a tech preview as your main OS. I just made a 30gb partition for it.
Re: General discussion chat I didn't mean to. Accidentally clicked it in my download bar while I was trying to get to Winexplorer. I meant to get the .iso and put it into VirtualBox but now windows (7 for me) is telling me to reboot my PC to install updates. Thing is, windows update has been borked on this PC for months and only came back once I did that. I also can't get Win10 working in VBox, but I've never set up a VM from a USB .iso before. Any help?
Re: General discussion chat If you double click the ISO file, you'll just mount it, not install Windows. At least that's how it should work...
Re: General discussion chat These people on twitter THEY'RE FOLLOWING BACK LOOKING AT MY PROFILE Judging me D:
Re: General discussion chat I got the installer at first. I'm not sure how that thing works. I'll see in about 2 hours. The VM isn't letting me install off the USB though. It just opens it and looks at files even though I just use the windows 7 USB/DVD iso tool. :| (I'm a VM noob though. Never used one. I'm not even 100% sure Intel Vitalization is on in the BIOS. I can't reboot now though as I need it for homework.
Re: General discussion chat You dont need to use usb for virtual machines, just tell it to boot from the iso (if you dont know how, tell me which vm software you use and ill tell you how) Sent from the 3rd galaxy from the talks of tapping
Re: General discussion chat Oh. I'm using VirtualBox. One problem though. I rebooted my PC and it's trying to install Win10. I didn't make backups or anything. Halp. (I think I'm going to have to install 10, backup everything, and do a reinstall of 7)
