Tbh, out of all the FCV engines, the most logical choices for the Stambecco would be the two Turbodiesel I4s, the 1.5, 110hp/255Nm unit and the 2.0 one, in both 150hp/325Nm and 190hp/405Nm versions.
As for the transmission, it certainly can have an automatic but I doubt that a CVT is suitable. CVTs aren't that good down low and off the line, where a gas engine feels a bit lethargic and, for an engine to always be in its powerband, it first has to get there.

There is no legal way you can do this, and we will not supply you with the resources to pirate parts of BeamNG. Please purchase the game legitimately. If you're unable to use 0.27 because you are stuck on 0.23 because you have a 32 bit system, I believe you're out of luck until you upgrade your PC.

If he's telling the truth, he may be stuck on a 32-bit operating system where the newest BeamNG version is 0.23.

It uses A LOT of the stuff from 0.27 so it will never work on any older version

I never understand the 32 bit and 64bit, so for me I just don't understand why he can't update.

I'm surprised that the devs didn't just decide to use the Piccolina powertrain for a BeamNG version of the Haflinger, but instead made a completely unrelated vehicle.

a Haflinger would certainly make for a good mod though.
from what I've heard, they chose to make a Pinzgauer because Jared's dad restores old military vehicles, and had a couple on hand which they could get reference from.

Tbh, the Haflinger looks smaller than the Pinzgauer, so it could very well be a different model than the Stambecco and have the 1.5 F4 engine of the Piccolina. The only part to be shared with the Stambecco could be the tube enclosing the same Swing-Axle suspension and running gear parts (diffs, gearbox and Hi/Lo range box).

I also wouldn't be surprised if Autobello had its versions of other Steyr-Puch vehicles - how about a mix of Steyr truck running gear and Fiat truck styling, or a Puch G/Campagnola mix?

Teuto-Italian hybrids are generally an interesting topic - how about blending Audis and Lancias (e.g. 80/Coupe/Quattro running gear in a Delta body), or Porsches and Alfa Romeos (911 meets a GTV, or a Spider, or the Brera)? Or maybe something more obscure, like an Autobianchi A111 with VW K70 elements? Or even pre-war stuff, perhaps an Alfa Romeo body over Mercedes 540K mechanicals?
