The front suspension is done!!! The list of things that I have to model is starting to get way smaller than it was a few weeks ago!!!!
I finished the exhaust system and now all that is left to model is the interior of the truck. I will begin working on the bodies after the chassis is actually in the game. Here are some pics of the new exhaust system!!!
Here is a semi-sneak peak for the bodies: I plan to make them very similar to the actual NASCAR truck series vehicles. The names will be the Bruckell Bassett (Dodge/ Ram), the Gavril Granger (Chevy RST), and the Hirochi Hunter GTR (Toyota Tundra 2022).
That's what I meant. I just forgot to put it on there. --- Post updated --- I added a floor because it is probably better to drive when you actually can be in the vehicle without falling out!! HAHAHA!! Seriously though, all I have to do now is the interior and the steering. Here are some pics of my floor:
I'd recommend narrowing the front part of the frame and increasing the length of the upper and lower arms of the front suspension to give it more travel room. Also, adding a curved bar/brace beneath the engine to give it support will be useful. Great job so far!
Thanks for the tips. I don't really think I can do anything for the front of the chassis due to the fact that there are like 500 vertices that I would have to move. I will do the control arms though; I was kind of just eyeballing it. I will also do the bar on the engine. I wasn't sure what to do for that because I was using the model from your Gen-6 mod as a base and didn't see a bar supporting the engine. On a related note, I have finished the dashboard and gauges!!
Good work! Another note: The roof area of the chassis is way too wide, it should slope in and become narrower. See here: --- Post updated --- Also, I think the main clip of the chassis is just a bit too wide.
Um . . . I'm just going to keep it the way it is because this is mostly an experiment to see if I can even actually successfully make a car for the game. The goal is to use what I have learned from this to make a real NASCAR truck that is actually accurate, but for now, I am content with the way the model is. I hope you understand.
I completely understand! I wish I had done the first part of the gen 6 mod as only an experiment, and redone it later, as some of the older parts of the mod were really frustrating to try and work with. Starting off with a scratch vehicle is definitely not easy, but it helps if you retry once you've learned things.
I honestly can't believe I have gotten this far with the project without quitting! Before this project, I had never actually modelled anything before, and I taught myself all of the skills that I am using for this project.
