Heyyyayay y'alll! (outkast) I've converted the Forza 3 Volvo 242 Turbo for BeamNG! Super excited. Mostly all credit goes to Turn 10 studios on the mesh and textures. I only separated each part and modified the lights to work in BNG. However, I would like credit for the JBeam files. They were hard to make. Current Version: 1.0.8 Hope y'all enjoy! P.S. let me know about bugs that are not obvious or changes you would like to see.
Seems ok. You left the Grand Marshal name in some JBeam, but huh. The lights are bugging me. I'm not sure, but I don't think the signals should light up with the headlights. (imported from here) (imported from here) You should try to tone down the glowmap for lights, it seems just too bright imo. Deformation isn't much clean. (imported from here) You could also make the file smaller if you get rid of the D15 in the dae. I'm not sure, but is the Volvo 242 actually body on frame or unibody?
Try to place the nodes exactly on the 3d model (scale them a little bit larger or wider until you see some beams and nodes coming from the body and try to see how they looked in the original cars made by Gabe) because when I crashed the car the quarter panels and the doors were a bit "spiky" Which means that the part that is represented by the node is a bit far from the node itself . Other than that , it's good View attachment 43583 Someone correct me if I was wrong.
Unibody. mcpersson front and solid rear axel. I love old Volvo's, had a bunch of them and still have some.
Okay. You're a huge help, man. I know for a fact that the center lower light is a dummy. I'm not sure if the signals come on with the lights, but this is the only picture I could find. Either way, I'll make it your way. I got rid of the D15 Not sure how to better the deformation, but I'll do my best. I had to borrow the frame from the gavril fullsize. Otherwise I would have no suspension, drive train, or anything else on the bottom..
I think this deserves the Reddustone Official stamp of approval not only for converting it pretty nicely, but also for the fact its the first non russian volvo . Edit:Already 2 updates
I like it. Thanks for making this. Deformation is generally good if not like the GM a bit (definitely not a bad thing). The model itself is very nice and clean on the outside looks wise. I agree the beam/node structure could be tightened up especially on the doors, but I know zilch about that. The door internals poke through the exterior sheet metal when hit. Color selector is a definite bummer. This is a cool mod and it's a keeper in my book.
I took it out because the "Default" is already stock. I only had it for debug purposes. The color selector works fine with a tweak I made. Not sure what's happening for you. Does anyone else have the problem too with 1.0.3? - - - Updated - - - I totally agree, but I don't have an estate model, and I don't want to finish my 850 yet
Nice mod. One thing I noticed right from the start was that the engine seems very weak under 3000 RPM and over 5000 RPM. The gears feel like they are too long aswell, search for "Volvo M46 gear ratios" and see if you can find the correct gearbox ratio.
Nice work! I would love to see a proper interior for this car And you should change the clutch torque from 1000 to something like 360, then the engine won't act so strange at low rpm's.
