Re: General discussion chat Performance impact is actually negligible. WINE is a compatibility layer not an emulator, all it does is translate win32 API calls to linux/OSX API calls. Thats pretty much it. They won't get 100% performance, but they might get 99%. Not much can be done for things not working though. Actually. My old laptop got higher performance in both Oblivion and KSP when run in WINE than they did on windows natively.
Re: General discussion chat the 2015 expedition looks really nice, much better power, and better MPG, cost lots of monies though my family owns a 2003 ford expedition XLT, i think we have the 4.6L engine (so 232HP & 291 LB*FT) and even that is a decent amount of power for moving that size of vehicle (you won't be winning any races, but having driven our expedition many times, it's definitely not bad) i personally would love to look at cars at dealerships, but my parents won't let me for the reason of "The employees will just keep bothering you because they want you to buy a car" otherwise i'd visit them whenever i could , but for now i just go to the ford website and use build & price on all the things (ford has a really nice build & price gui)
Re: General discussion chat I knew you'd be the first one to reply We only got hassled once by this Indian guy. Insisted he walked around with us. Told him we were just browsing and that we'd ask him if we needed anything. Didn't even get glanced at by any of the other salesman when we were walking around outside. Lots o' trucks. New trucks are the king of useless features though. Like the step in the tailgate. It's too much to pushing and pulling in different directions and pulling safety locks and stuff to be useful. Maybe if you're old it's good, but its too much trouble than its worth. And there were plastic bed extensions on some of the trucks that you could fold out onto the tailgate. Most retarded things ever. At the very back of the lot I found a 2013 Taurus Police Interceptor. The drivers door was unlocked. Only unlocked car outside of the building. Was brand new, but a 2013. Must have been sitting there for a while. Then we got inside. Some dude at a computer asked us if we needed help and we told him that the indian dude was helping us. Didn't bother us again. They pretty much had at least one of every model in there. They had 2 Expeditions, one of which a king ranch EL. Damn those things are big. I love them. It's like you have a sense of control over everything. That false confidence comes with a hefty price tag of 62,000 bucks, though. They had an F-250 in there. Fucking massive. Think it was a super cab short bed. Those new super duties, you don't simply get in them. You board them. Had all the bells and whistles. Tow mirrors, 4x4, trailer brake controller, etc. Had a few transits there. Can't decide if I like those things or not. Also, some of the new Lincolns have a stunning resemblance to some of the Amagia cars. Next up is a chevy/buick/GMC dealership. I wanna get my hands on a few of those new Suburbans and Tahoes (and of course their rebadged counterparts).
Re: General discussion chat Current gen looks horrid compared to the old gen, but they are solid workhorses. Many a transit on british roads and construction sites.
Re: General discussion chat Yeah they have more room than a normal Econoline, and are better on gas (assuming as they are popular in Europe). More efficient and practical. If I was gonna buy a personal car, I'd probably go Econoline (stubborn american resistant to change etc), but if I was buying fleet cars I'd definitely go Transit. Kinda sad to se the E series go, but I'm sure we will adapt. It's for the better :,-)
Re: General discussion chat @potato, while consumers probably wont be able to get an e-series (at least not new) youll probably still see plenty of them used for m otorhomes and such And yeah, the commanding view and space in the expedition is quite awesome (even the back row is comfortable for adults, rear independent suspension FTW) The new suburban and tahoe actually look decent as well (the grille is a bit big, but this is 'Murica) Sent from the 3rd galaxy via the talks of tapping
Re: General discussion chat Entirely doable. I have plenty of contact with other humans. I just hate most people. Again, doable. However, I might have to track down and kill whoever organized it. No problem, really. Just because I don't like doing things doesn't mean I'm incapable. Not really. /////quote You see, people, the thing is, I'm not anti-social. I am selectively social. ie, there are a very few people who I actually enjoy being around and socializing with for extended periods of time. Talking to random people is really no issue. Buying things, etc. I don't like to go outside. So what? It's hot, cold, dry, wet, dirty, etc. I am uncomfortable in large groups of people, no matter whether they are likable or not. That's still not a killing thing for me anymore. To conclude. Fuck y'all assholes.
Re: General discussion chat You using google to learn what shit means really shows through. Although the definition of antisocial may mean you don't like any human contact, it's pretty much become exactly what you said. "selectivly social" fuck you It's ok to not like going outside, but being afraid of outside is a whole different thing.
Re: General discussion chat Google? What google. I like some human's contact under certain circumstances. Selectively social. Or hating the world. Whichever you choose. Oh, please. I'm not afraid of going outside. I just hate it. A lot. And there is legitimate danger around here.
Re: General discussion chat Guys, guys, guys, I know that I've had my share of Dalek jokes, but can we just leave him be for 10 minutes? Christ, it's like watching my sophomore year of high school.
Re: General discussion chat So. Last week, I almost went to my first concert. Rise Against was playing at the House of Blues in Boston. My uncle offered to get me the tickets, some merch at the show, and everything. My parents said no because fuck my happiness. Tonight, they're livestreaming their concert in St. Petersburg, Florida. The livestream starts at 9:05PM. My dad is shutting off my Internet at 9PM. I'm seriously not sure if I should break something, crawl into a hole and die, or keep up the false hopes that I'll somehow see them live-ish. This is starting to drive me crazy. ALL I WANT TO DO IS SEE A FUCKING RISE AGAINST CONCERT AND MEET TIM McILRATH AND I NEVER FUCKING GET TO DO ANY OF THAT SHIT, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? What did I even do to deserve this torture? At this point, it's just total bullshit. Sorry if I sound like an annoying-ass bitch-and-whine pop punk teen who complains a lot, I'm just really fucking pissed off right now. Carry on with your life.
