Now this is what I call a truck stop. Engineers at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) have developed a new type of barrier to protect buildings against truck and car bomb attacks. It would be an interesting mod to add to the Grid Map or any other map. Have a look ;-)
And you know Again_Dejavu, for the moment they (TTI) are not really concerned about the driver's safety or anybody around this thing.
Wow...set just above the truck frame height, catches the engine block/drivetrain and sweeps the frame clean. Looks like it's got some SERIOUS anchorage going on as well.
A full 18 inches into the ground. Can't believe people think there is no engine in that truck... Its quite clear it is there....
Bollards outside a few UK government buildings apparently reach down to 2 metres, want to smash a car through it, you have to hit it hard enough to snap it which likely won't happen. Although gaps in between bollards are hardly reassuring.
Looks to me that if you hit that thing fast enough the frame would just keep on going without the cab or bed. This talk was tapped
I'm pretty sure people car bombing a building would park outside and do it, they don't drive right through it All this is going to do is kill old people who accelerate by accident, would be cool in BeamNG though.
In all reality this system would probably be installed well away from, and only installed at, sensitive high value targets. Sort of first in line against vehicle attack. Wheel chair bombs will need something a little more clever.
Did an attempt to replicate this with the T-75 and the results were remarkably similar, albeit the T-75 was doing 105mph.
Nice work! I love how accurate BeamNG is! This game keeps on amazing me. Now It looks more believable that in the original video the truck did have an engine since according to BeamNg physics the crash is very similar, and that proves my point, BeamNG is so accurate that it can almost be used as a crash forensics source! Love this game. Also the barrier that they used for this seems to be solid metal or steel, about 1.5 inch thick, sounds about right, when a car hits a nice size tree at high speed the car wraps around the tree and the tree says that tickled, what is more imagine if the tree was made out of solid steel.. so yeah Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
