Re: General discussion chat Been quoted £90 by another garage, going with that I think. I don't have a torque wrench, so thats already put a DIY job out of the question (although I could buy parts and tools for less than ATS quote)
Re: General discussion chat Being able to work on a car will save you a ton of money. If I had a car I wouldn't take it anywhere near a garage. The only real difficulty is tools. Can be expensive.
Re: General discussion chat Those parts are outdated, but you could build the same PC with new parts for the same money. And still have an audi. Or you can be a retard and buy a mac.
Re: General discussion chat you don't even have an excuse if you need something only available on mac build a hackintosh, or build a windows pc and run a max os x virtual machine both of which are cheaper
Re: General discussion chat Or buy a PC and a Felicia, do a audi 1.8 swap, (or anything else if you have the balls to swap a non VW engine into place of a VW engine youself,) and get rid of all possible rust. have the ultimate sleeper cruiser. Go to the strip and smoke the kids with their nitro'd Honda Corsas. Or scratch the PC and get a dozen felicias and make your own fleet. Or start own tuning shop! damn i want money for a mac.
Re: General discussion chat Ah, yes, another Mac worshiper. How sad. I like Macs, I really do. I would't hesitate replacing my 17" MacBook Pro with a 15" Retina, or my 20" iMac with a new 27" iMac. But I don't worship them, unlike this so called "macfag". I don't have the time, the energy, or the desire to worship them. However, due to my fanatic hatred for Microsoft and Windows, I do prefer them. Then again, I prefer Linux to Windows as well. 3... 2... 1...
Re: General discussion chat Components for my new microphone have arrived. Going to "borrow" some solder and two pieces of cable from school tomorrow to finish it up. Will also need to find some foam so that i can put the microphone capsule inside its case (14mm diameter copper pipe). I am using the Primo EM172 microphone capsule. Should sound awesome provided i can get this working nicely... Hopefully the 3.5mm connector will provide the necessary power when plugged in. I chose the female connector so that i can plug a 3.5mm male to male cable between the mic and audio interface easily without any cable management and/or breaking issues.
Re: General discussion chat I just find OSX really annoying and Macs way too expensive. I'd never buy one. Not my problem if you like them, it's not my money being wasted anyway. Flame war successfully cancelled. - - - Updated - - - Speaking about operating systems, Windows 8 is being shit again. Windows Explorer decides to freeze and crash every time I right-click something to open the context menu. It's not the first time this happens, it happened twice and twice I reinstalled my PC, since I didn't find any way to fix it. It seems to just break after a few months of a fresh install. No, I didn't install anything before it broke. No Windows updates either. It seems to be a Windows 8.1 bug. Is anyone else having a similar issue? If I have to reinstall again I might just switch back to 7 until Windows 10 is out.
Re: General discussion chat I need someone's opinion on this So a touch screen android tablet for £45 is this fake ? probably is but... just want a second opinion. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7-TABLET-...t=UK_Computing_Laptops_EH&hash=item3cd8431920 And a dell D420 laptop for £85 the price is understandable considering well.... windows XP, 1.2 Ghz processor, 1.5 GB of ram. This made me laugh (its from the page) come on Cbeebies man XD. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dell-D420...uting_Laptops_EH&hash=item462502076f#viTabs_0 Finally a drum kit I might get : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mapex-VX-...336?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item58b6454e18
Re: General discussion chat while not fake, it defintly wouldn't be worth it, the cheap android tablets generally suck arse
Re: General discussion chat old image though - - - Updated - - - I know someone was looking at a volvo swap at one point. Problem with swapping engines on these FWD transverse engined cars is the driveshafts, mess with their lengths too much and you can bind the steering or suspension or induce torque steer. Really limits packaging options. I think that is why the VW 1.4 and 1.6 swaps are so popular, they drop onto the stock skoda gearbox and they also use the same engine management unit but with different firmware so you barely have to modify the stock wiring harness to plug the new engine management unit in.
Re: General discussion chat I posted a screenshot on Instagram of an Anti-Flag song playing on my phone and Chris 2, the bassist for Anti-Flag, liked the fucking picture! I still feel so happy and excited about that happening.
Re: General discussion chat I am pissed. The student leader for our robotics team has not shown up for a couple of weeks and then buts in on my electronics team and acts like he is some f#%*ing God and takes over. I'm just thinking either show up, help and know what is going on or leave. Needles to say I think I broke every speed limit driving home because of how pissed off I am at that ass h*•#
Re: General discussion chat Sounds like someone needs an ass-whoopin. I hate the pretentious types in robotics and electronics. Too damn many. Much the reason why I never went into any type of team.
Re: General discussion chat I have a question Why did I get banned from /beamng and /smussmg at the same time on IRC? Whatd I dooooo. Ozzx. What did I dooooo.
Re: General discussion chat Wait, I thought they couldn't see it if I closed the BeamNG chat? You gotta admit TechnicolorFagLick is a pretty good insult
