I guess when people start complaining? I don't have time to update it every time as it requires moving and renaming a lot of files which can take a few hours. Also it's just a demo so it doesn't need to have all of the stuff that the full version has.
Also i have a suggestion : make a mod file that's packed as a mod so people will do this with their configs : 1. Install the file 2. Unpack the file 3. Put their config in it
You mean configs from the demo in full version? They are not compatible to avoid issues so you can't do that, they would have to redo their configs
I think it's about time I've posted a progress update number 14. I'm having to work on many mods at the same time now so I should probably say what I did on this so people don't think I abandonned it. I tried recording some sounds for the V8 engine, but they turned out awful beyond saving, so the V8 engine just uses a modified V6 sound instead now. At least that's a major point off the list. Some better news: I added a bunch of new bigger wheels and tires! These go for vanilla 6-lug wheel hubs so you can put them on the Hopper for example. All of these tires are interchangable on the wheels. Added trunk-mounted spare wheels, old and new ones. Normally they spin freely but you can add 'spare brakes' that stop them. Updated lifted variants to have spare tires. Stock variants also have a spare tire now, it's squished in the spare tire pan, I mean that's what this piece is there for, right? Added tireless donk wheels. Aside from the sizes on the pictures, there are 2 more sizes inbetween. The configs shown are new donk configs in the mod. Added off-road lights and various light covers. Added to lifted config by default. There are also grille-mounted rally lights with the same cover designs available. Various other off-road accessories such as snorkel, skidplate, tube doors... Also race headrest for race configs. Because why design a whole race seats when everything is modular. These are just the most important new parts, maybe you can spot some more in the new configs: Donks - already showed them before, one is based on the cheapest model and the other on the most luxurious one. Mad Max themed car called Blood Blox, this has a ton of new single use parts lol Off-Road Beater - bad at offroading on purpose, someone just took a junkyard car and sticked homemade suspension and bus wheels on it, it's FWD and has no shocks so it drives super bad lol Baja - RWD and kinda slow but handles sand dunes really well for lego car standards Off-Road and Crawler - extensively modified builds for the roughest terrain. Amateur and proper rally versions. The amateur one is kind of a joke and drives very bad, while the proper one is super fun but quite hard to control. And if you want something crazier: Group B Rally config and its barely street legal homologation version, both equipped with huge wings! These are extremely hard to control and have way too much power to the rear wheels only, they are based on various irl Group B cars. The last config is thematically unrelated, it's the Gold Edition made of pure gold instead of plastic which makes it 18 times heavier than normal. Even with extensive engine, transmission, differential and brake upgrades, it's still ultra slow and unsafe. You may call it a ripoff of the golden Vertex since it's pretty much the same concept, but it's actually meant to be a reference to the Mr. Gold minifigure, even has similar lore. What next to do? Probably some drift, race, tuner, ricer and similar versions, idk. There isn't even that much left, a lot of parts are done and just configs remain for some of the stuff on my todo list. Just realised it's over halfway done too, yay! Now maybe 2 more years until release! (I hope less)
Wow so much pieces in this mod, I think it will be released at the same time as the 1.0 of beamng xD --- Post updated ---
why bother with renaming the demo? from what ive heard some paid mods with demos will break with both versions installed since nothings renamed. no reason to have both versions installed anyways
For convinience for myself and my testers so they won't have conflicting stuff in the cache or something. Always better to rename when you are making a separate version of the mod. Either way renaming is only part of the process, another part is changing all the default slots.
Universal dummy, that one giant mod pack, Oldsfullsize update, Maluch remaster 2.0, some things I haven't announced yet, and at some point I have to update my universal gun and trailers in parts selector too. It's not like I'm working on everything at the same time, I just choose whatever I feel like, but I'm not taking on any new projects obviously.
Progress update 15, I focused here on racing oriented configs and managed to get a decent chunk of them done, thugh most of them will need finetuning later, I probably won't do it myself since I'm not experienced at this. I will just show the new configs I added now. Soapbox Racer, config for no engine downhill racing Trackday, a combination of a street legal car and a race one. 5-speed manual, AWD, turbocharged V6, lowered suspension, extra aero bits Off-Road Ricer, maybe doesn't really fit this theme lol, it's supposed to look like a beefy offroader but it sucks, has fake suspension, high center of gravity, thin tires and open diffs lol Street Tuned, a tuned sport version with a body kit and higher top speed Early 2000s tuner, I don't think this needs a comment lol Drift Missile, a homebuilt V8 drift version Retired Police, completely off theme I know, I just made it because I got a video recommended on YouTube of someone making a lego Bluesmobile so I made a version inspired by it lol Safety Car - pace car for racing, based on sport version Drift - a more professional drift car with a livery inspired by Initial D 70s stock car, somewhat based on the Bluebuck stock car and various irl 70s ones 70s race car - a similar thing, but meant for full on race tracks rather than oval circuits, RWD supercharged V8, 5-speed manual Superspeedway Edition - Based on the Dodge Daytona, a super fast stock car but also sold to the public for regulation reasons. Features a unique design for aerodynamics. Yes these are fake taillights lol Modern stock car - config inspired by NASCAR, with all fake lights and grilles, lowered and widened suspension, hood flaps, spoiler and all Touring Car - Based on the Pessima one, FWD NA V6, 6 speed sequential Hillclimb - most extreme race version, with all the boost, cooling, widebody and aero available Honestly there is not that much left to do with the mod but the things that are left could be quite complex. For example a towing package config with a whole trailer made for it, ricer and bosozoku configs with many new parts needed, and drag configs which also need dedicated parts like wheelie bars and custom interior switches. And then of course finetuning which I will need help with. I hope I can finish the mod quite soon, at least the first version of it before I add more body styles later.
honestly its already very ready for a release (the full version). there SO much stuff already and its not finished yet! keep it up!
Can't release without finetuning, thumbnails, stats, and some placeholder configs in place, lack of proper drag parts, + I really want to add that trailer for towing package because I built it irl to fit the car. But otherwise true it's near releasable.
Can you make a 1000 version inspired by the fiat 1294tiplia ? And maybe a rally config inspired by the Subaru's livery ?
