So, one day, me and my dad were coming home from school (this happened last year). It was heavily snowing and the plows couldn't keep up. So, there was some snow on the road. We had decided to take backroads as normally traffic was brutal if you take the main road. But as we came to an intersection, the brakes locked up (because of the traction control). They wouldn't release and we almost slid into the intersection. In fact, my dad was afraid we would cook the brakes. The people behind us and at the side of the intersection understood. They waited until we were able to drive through the crossing. Then, as we came to an intersection that reconnected to the main road, the brakes locked up again. This time, it was when we were halfway in the road. Then, a minivan came careening towards us, but we couldn't drive away. Luckily, the brakes released just in time. We drove away with less than 3 feet between us and the minivan. We were so glad that we could drive away, and the car is still in one piece today. Then, still shaken, I said, "I wish you could disable traction control", and he agreed.
So the EU just added an exception to their 2035 new-ICE ban for ruinously expensive synthetic fuels. This is being promoted in some circles as them rescinding that ban. Personally, I'm not as optimistic. The rich (and only the rich) can still have ICE sports cars, everyone else can't, what's actually surprising about that anymore?
nooooo a classic car dealership near me (like a few minutes away) has a fucking Pinzgauer, and im too broke to buy it. 1976 Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer | Unique Classic Cars i recreated it in beam tho
The 5 Commandments of Car Culture: Thou shalt not judge a car by its drivetrain; Honor thy muscle and thy JDM ; Thou shalt not judge thy neighbour for their car; Thou shalt always drive safely on the street, and take thy performance needs to a track; Thou shalt resort to OEM parts whenever possible.
Very often yes, and the thing is, with Reddit being Reddit, there's a very good possibility that much of it is at least theoretically organic. I think there are bots of some sophistication operating there as well (mostly because of the strange and otherwise unexplainable J-body spam that still occasionally rears its head), but I doubt that accounts for everything.
I recently discovered that my car is surprisingly hackable for example my Skoda has a Soundaktor wich pumps fake noise into the interior so someone recently discovered that all VW group Soundaktors are the same unit so you can basically install diffrent Sounds from diffrent VW cars. Another thing i noticed was that you can easily change the driver mode settings where you can basically change every mode of your car the way you want it, I for example changed it so i have the 16 setting DCC of the newer VW Arteon wich my car never had but you can flash it that way. You also can install features on the car aftermarket style you had on completly diffrent cars someone made an AWD swap with just OEM parts or he changed the Steering wheel with a somewhat selfdriving mode from the MK8 Golf
