Dim them how? As in the actual pattern that shines out, or the glare when looking at the headlights directly?
Pictures in order, first is OEM, 2nd is Halogen, 3rd is HID, 4th is LED. Using an ETK 800. Might be slightly on the bright side but I'm not sure that most headlights would reach as far as these do IRL. --- Post updated --- PT 2, High beams. Left car is OEM, Right is modded W/ LEDs
Thanks everyone for the feedbacks, if so then ill keep them as is. Thanks foor the detailed explanation too, they do reach a few hundred meters irl but i think the issue is that i didnt make the beams low enough. Ill experiment a bit and make some adjustments :] Thanks everyone
After driving around a little bit more with them, I can see why he thinks they are a bit bright. My IRL car doesn't have the most amazing headlights but I do have Bi-Xenons IRL (G37), the low beam HIDs may be on par or slightly brighter than mine IRL. High beams are definitely alot brighter and more range though. The LED ones are very bright, I don't know if they are on par to OEM LED lights nowadays but I know aftermarket LEDs can have quite a bit of range. In game and in person could look totally different from each other with the same range though.
Alright thanks for the input, I am quite aware its a bit bright but I had to also consider that there is no street lighting ingame so if im afraid if i dim them too much they become useless again, but if its still too bright then ill dim them down a lil more then
I recorded some driving this morning with my bi-xenons if you are interested at all, maybe for adjustments or references.
From my experience, recording how your headlight looks vs how it actually looks to the eye is VERY different. My old halogen headlights looks so much brighter on camera than it does in real life. LEDs are a bit better but camera still makes it look brighter than it actually is.
Sure sure, I havent really I agree, cameras have a bad time trying to capture lights from headlights especially at night.
Thats kinda what I meant by the "In game and in person could look totally different from each other with the same range though." part. Looking over the video though it looks pretty similar, if not slightly brighter. But that might be why people think they are too bright in game. If they are the same brightness as IRL, but since its on a screen and not in person it might look brighter than it actually is. The footage I was thinking was more for the angles of the lights. IMO the high beams in game shine too far and are a bit too high
Hey, sorry for going very long with no updates. I was a bit sidetracked and had other things to do and kinda forgot about this. But dont worry, ill start now and ill also fix the flares for all vehicles so the highbeams act as actual highbeams and blind oncoming traffic. --- Post updated --- Updated this version of the mod, now im gonna update the repo version, should be out soon. Though I had to disable the cornering lights for now, it kinda bugged out a bit.
There is always the pigeon, some ibishu cars, miramer and the covet and the etk 800 ute and etk i-series and procyon centauri
Hey, I just noticed the wigwags for the police cars (on the bastion atleast, havent tried anything else as of now) don't appear to work with your headlights like they do with the original ones.
Hello, sorry I replied this late. I have tried them and they still work, but when the main headlights are on they dont seem to flicker.
Sorry, I should have been more specific. The actual light flashes on the car itself, but not the light out on the road/walls/etc where its shining. And also like you said when the main headlight is on it also doesn't flash
