The base cars atm have the 854 rear diffuser, with one exhaust tip on the right side. The left side is shown here, so it's natural that we don't see the tip. But the diffuser seems slightly remodeled, so everything is possible.
i was gonna point out that the proportions on the sedan look a little funky but looking at the real cars the 800 series is primarily based on it's actually pretty accurate to how their sedan versions look eitherway honestly just the existence of a sedan version is awesome, it's been the thing that basically everyone (myself included) wanted out of the 800 series so it's great seeing it finally become official
The looks already grew on me, so no problem with me! Yep, the modern D-Segment RWD Sport Sedan is a very characteristic automotive breed, so we're all glad it's now part of BeamNG. Plus, the new 800 Sedan is roughly the same size as the I-Series, a car of the Executive Sedan/E-Segment (one size class larger, that is) but being at least 28 years older!
Did you actually read the AMA? He gave some pretty clear etas for some features that have come and gone with nothing in sight. I think "something in the direction of" scratches and dynamic dirt on vehicles was supposed to come last update and nothing happened.
WOW this is a dream come true. I adore the 800 series sedan mod. its like my W211 but more BMWish BUT the back reminds me of the lovely CLA mixed with BMW. NOW we have sedan. I dunno if we have that v8 ( i am 80% we might ) even if we dont its my favorite new car
i wonder if they'll make a racing configuration for the sedan version, i feel like the most likely one would be gt4/gt3 based but i could see maybe a class 1 car (the car's production run was when class 1 still ran in dtm, the main german racing series so i could see them doing it, plus the etk k is probably more likely out of the two to get the gt treatment)
I'd quite like to see a DTM car for the 800 Sedan, I figure GT3/4 cars would probably be left to the K-Series.
The position of the seats feels oddly far back, and the C pillar feels strangely vertical compared to what you'd expect from a sedan, especially with the odd quarter window at the end, it almost looks more like a shrunk down 7-series fighter. I loved the remastered K series design, but I'm really not sure about these styling choices. Damn that orange widebody is pretty, by the way.
The seat position seems about right to me. If you look at the headrest in comparison to the wheel, both are very slightly ahead of the vertical center of the wheel.
I think whats throwing it off with regards to the headrest position is the type and size of the headrest, the one in the real BMW is a full size headrest similar to the ones in the front seat if I am not mistaken, while the one presented in the remaster is more of the half-headrest seen in many sedans where the headrest is much shorter than the front seat counterparts, this leads it to looking like the seat is much more reclined or shrunk down, when it really is similarly proportioned to the front seats but with a shorter headrest. As for the trunk, it might have to do with the ducktail wing on the rear, which is presenting more of a visual curve along the trunk. With the lip on the trunk removed, you would see the trunk flatten out and it would have a much similar bodyline to the trunk of the BMW presented on the right. Finally, with the C pillar, the issue lies in the fact that the rear door design of the cars you presented are rather different. the BMW features its quarter window integrated into the door, while the ETK has it integrated to the body. This can trick you because the rear quarter window view you get in the ETK is farther back than presented in the BMW, and if you overlay the two sedan profiles you'll likely see the seats match up a lot cleaner than expected --- Post updated --- They all have euro style plates though?
I believe that's just how the tailgate is shaped, the black 800 looks like a base model so it wouldn't come with added spoilers By the way, this made me notice how accentuated the lip actually is, although the angle might be playing a role
Yeah I doubt it is removable but if you could remove it the trunk profile would be much more sedan-esque
