Update Speculation thread

i dont know if this has been mentioned yet but, to all of the people who said the stuff about the 844 thing, i zoomed in as much as i could which almost broke my computer and patience, it does in fact have a 844 badge on the trunk. also i found some other details: one i find it weird that the sedan doesnt have a shark fin antenna on top, and two maybe its because i dont really know engines and under body stuff but theres only one exhaust on the right of the sedan, then again this could be normal for this engine im not sure,

i just realized this was my 300th message, yay very low compared to bussin.buses lol!

 

It looks to be a base model so possibly the exhaust is not visible, or it has a downturned exhaust

 

heres my speculation..... Not only are we getting a saloon, but the orange car is also a coupe performance version

 

I have to agree on this one. I love the overall design of the 800 but the taillights have always bothered me. Its like someone drew them freehand and just never straightened out the crooked lines. They're an extremely nonsensical shape.

 

No they don’t? For me only the diesels have euro plates.

I can prove to you it isn’t a K series. Note that the orange car just has the side marker behind the fender. In the K series teaser we got, it still has the same style vent that the current K series has.

 

Milendur's ETK mod is stunning, I would be more then happy for that to be the official content.. its a stunning mod ( and i dont often use mods )

however. Am glad the Devs are doing there own thing. They did there own thing.

While i hope Milendur updates his sedan mod after the remaster.

BUT i think it the official thing looks VERY VERY german. Some BMW some audi. Taste of merc.

Cant wait.

 

I second the first part, milendurs mod is one of the only mods I use since I have a low tolerance for sub par mod quality, but milendur has definitely satisfied me with the 800 sedan and lift back

 

So regarding the speculation on the orange ETK, I see some people thinking it may be a coupe. Others have said this wouldn't make sense because we already have the k-series. Others still correctly pointed out that BMW (M4 and Z4) and Mercedes (C-class AMG and SL/SLK) had/have cars in both segments, at least at the time the earliest models in-game came out. When I saw the picture I did think the windshield rake looked a bit coupe-like, especially with the more vertical c-pillar on the one we know is a sedan. It could just as easily be a trick of the perspective though, or me misinterpreting things. While the real German car companies had performance coupes in both segments, that doesn't mean the devs made them both for Beam.

Or maybe the orange one isn't an 800 series coupe at all, but rather a sportback/gran coupe bodystyle, like the Germans are so fond of making.

 

I still can’t decide if the orange one is an 800 or a k series, I thought at first it was a k series, but it seems to not match the styles of the k series. The side looks more too be an 800 series judging by the fender, but the performance bumper and the windshield looks to be too slanted to be an 800 series, but it does still look to be a modified high performance 800 series.

 

The headlights and fenders definetly point to an 800 Series rather than the K-Series, and that windshield rake just does not look sedan like to me.

I guess there's nothing saying it isn't something weird like a sportback/gran coupe, but that's clearly a very high performance spec with the brakes, widebody, and power bulge, which all would seem a bit out of place on something other than a traditional coupe IMO.

 

Well it is a work in progress, so they may tweak the design and refine it.

 

Perhaps halogen bulbs could have a fade effect. Kinda hard for me to explain, but led lights will instantly flash on or off, but halogens and such could quickly fade from dark to bright. Sorta like this Firebird...

 

It seems that they removed the hofmeister kink, maybe it is to stay away from any potential copyright issues

 

Could be long wheel base version, the rear seats are further from the front it seems but maybe the angle is playing a trick on us

Idk if reimagining the hofmeister kink not 1:1 would be a problem. I thought ETK 800 was inspired by BMW 3 series so when i made the ETK 800 sedan, F30 template was used. The hofmeister kink is one of my favourite design features of bmw so i very much incorporated it in 800-series and it looks on point in my opinion. Now the sharp curve: the wagon's rear quarter windows also end with a sharp curve and it looks alright so that is why they decided to do it here too. Now it looks similar to AUDI A4.
Now we start to see that devs like to put random twists on the design of their cars, for example the vivace is so similar to peugeot 208 but yet we have 2.5l 5 cylinder engine with 7 speed dual clutch transmission like audi

That's it buddy, what you see here is going to get released very soon at this form.

 

what do you mean "removed"? the ETKs have always had a straightened out hoffmeister kink, and the angle always matches the edge of the taillight.

 

I think that halogen effect is also really necessary for the beamng. The current beamng shows that all halogen headlamps have the same effect as led headlamps.

 

ngl.. really hope this isnt a facelift or something because atleast from this angle it is ugly as hell

 

I wasn't sure about that bumper as well at first but actually I kind of like it. To really be able to judge it I would need to see it from the front as well tho
