How do you guys know the update is anywhere close to done, for all you know they were just bouncing one feature back and forth with the creator program for quick feedback (hopefully UI improvements)
Judging by the content that has been teased, it looks pretty far along, and the creator program has been pretty active lately, as it usually is close to an update. Plus, they stated that they wanted to stick to a 3-month schedule, which it is nearing 3 months since the last update.
The orange etk in the teaser is a 800 coupe for sure. so the 800serie will have break/sedan/coupé bodies.
the A-pillard seems to be more angled than on a break or sedan, and the hood length seems to fit for a coupé proportions.
My bet was either today or tomorrow, if they already updated creator's branch on Friday (if I'm not mistaken), that'd give creators time over the weekend plus m,t,w, and the devs have tomorrow and Friday to release patches, why would they wait until next week anyway?
To me the body looks exactly as before + you don't just lengthen the front in order to make a coupe version of a car, especially german one that has everything modular and easy/cheap for production
I personally don’t find it likely that the angle of the A-Pillar would change at all between coupe/sedan/wagon bodies. It doesn’t really make any logical sense to me, especially from a cost standpoint. I mean do the M3 and M4 nowadays have different A-Pillar angles?
i nevcer says it just need to lengthen the front in order to make a coupe version of a car, but yes coupé have more longer hood than sedan (in general) like A5s have more longer hoods than A4 (and more angled A-pillards too) Spoiler: a4 and a5 b7 (2009) for comparaison
Yes, the angle of the A-pillar is different because they have different bodies, the 4er is lower by 2.7in/6.86cm (talking about the F32 gen, but the difference remains on the G22). Plus, the 4-Series has frameless glass panes on the doors while the 3er doesn't. It's always been that way ever since the E36.
"We want to stick to a 3-month schedule" doesn't mean an update that takes 4, 5, 6 months is magically going to be done in 3
