HI! I am back with another car add-on! This time it my personal favorite BeamNG vinnila car, the Hirochi Sunburst! Note: this is just a small add-on pack I will work on in my free time. Configs added so far: Blacked-out, and ricer. More will be added soon. Here are a few pictures of what I am working on: Enjoy!
Don't get me wrong, making configs is really not a bad thing. It allows you to experiment and make vanilla bulds, that developers didn't do. But usually people want to see something new added to the car, not something they can make themselves, If you understand what I am trying to say. I am glad you have intentions of adding your own parts, but are you sure that you know what you are getting into? Even If you only mean to change materials and not the actual shape of an object, the mapping of said object can still overlap with objects of the changed material. Pretty much all objects here use ambient occlusion map, meaning that just changing material is going to make the shadows on your object look weird and distorted. If you want to add something new, then you are in for quite a ride. Assigning materials (so there won't be no texture indicators), working on topology (so the object won't look like crap), working on mapping (so there won't be weridly stretched textures), editing jbeam files (so the new object can be selected for custom configurations) ... all of this even If you only plan to modify vanilla parts. Don't get me wrong, making something new yourself is a fantastic way to learn and will bring you a tremendous amount of satisfaction. I am just trying to show you a painful side to modding, that you might not be familiar with yet.
Welcome to the forums. See the rectangle at the top of the thread? It says cancelled, because I have a lot of other mods to do, including tuned versions of most cars:https://www.beamng.com/threads/west-coast-usa-tuning-company-remake.92225/
