kinda, in the sense there will be super luxurious trims filled with the latest technology, as well as basic trims better suited to fleet use


Also might be worth mentioning again there will be 2 models within one for this mod, the Avante will be a sporty, luxurious saloon, much like a Toyota Chaser. It will also however feature a sister car with different front/rear sheetmetal, utilising more formal, squared off and luxurious styling, similar to a Toyota Cresta

Anyways, been working out how to do light textures recently, namely how to fake a refraction effect (until the devs eventually implement refraction) and got something fairly convincing

that said it needs tweaking, namely in unfavourable lighting conditions the indicators go completely black (which is partly realistic if you look at the mark ii above, though there should still be some light areas
where light is sufficient it looks decent, so might just adjust things via diffuse dextures and such


should also point out these normal map textures are placeholders (borrowed from a certain racing game) now that I like the results I will bake my own normal maps to use instead

 

shouldn't you try to make the frame first?

 

will probably do that last honestly it really makes no difference which parts you tackle first, just so long as you do things in such a way that parts won't have to be altered to fit stuff in and so on

Maybe make Cresta counterpart using framed windows and non hardtop bodystyle like real Cresta?

 

Oo and include a supercharged 2L I6 twin cam Which alot of the GX71s had BUT They weren't stock mostly swapped from a Crown of the same era like a S130 but the GX80s did have it so

It really doesn't have to have one on release, as long as it has a nitrous slot it can be V8 swapped.

Yeah that is the plan, I am thinking for the sedan body I will do something 71 Cresta inspired, with framed windows but cool, angular styling
and seeing as the hardtop has a c pillar window the sedan will have a solid c pillar with no window, much like the Cresta or R31 sedan, as opposed to say an MX73 Cressida/Mark II sedan

I had plans to do a supercharged variant of the 2000cc six yes, possibly as a factory option or maybe just an aftermarket swap

Def won't have a factory V8, but an aftermarket swap is a possibility

I mean they all from Japan and made in the 80s, but that's about where the similarities end

beaters? because this gen cressida is a know mileage maker in the usa

 

yeah, I was thinking of having something more along the lines of a Mikawa V8, displacing about 4000cc and having a DOHC 32valve setup
Tho I might also make the Bastion engine a possible swap...

a beater config could be a possibility, if I did do one it would probably be a bit of a 'well kept' beater tho, so just things like weathered exterior and interior textures and so on

 

Ah, so like the engine would not be threatening to explode at any second, right?
