whoops, will be fixed in next update ^^" Ah yeah, thanks! I forgot it's still mated to the stock 200bx trans.
Pretty cool car, do like this generation of f bodies myself And yeah @akemi I think the coupe jbeam is a good choice, seeing as both cars are of unibody construction, though as @silvermanblu pointed out the suspension is quite different, where the coupe uses front struts and multi link rear, and the Camaro has a traditional double wishbone front with a solid rear. My personal suggestion would be to just take the front and rear suspension from the Grand Marshal (it is similar enough to 3rd gen Fbody) and then mount it to the 200bx frame, as well as adding a bit of weight to the chassis so the whole car comes around to about 1400-1500kg weight. I think then it would feel a lotr more authentic to the real thing And if you haven't already the engine jbeam should also be a bot heavier than the 200BX one, being a V8 and all --- Post updated --- aaaahahaha
All stock jbeam right now including weight, only exception being the additional length, but I intended to modify a lot of it (a lot of the rear end mostly will have to be redone particularly, given the way the hatch opens, rear panel, ect). That's all stuff I should be able to do. Suspension is a weak point for me though BeamNG's node names tend to be universal (ie the pessima headlights, hood attach to 200bx frame, lightbar will nearly mount instantly to any car given position adjustment, just fine because the devs use the same node structure on practically each car) so maybe the pre-0.17.1 marshall suspension will attach right on.. but first i'm going to give the latest suspension a try, and work my way down the ladder of mediocrity if all goes wrong.
Provided is a minor update, featuring some of the things uploaded by @ryanisstigg among some of my own work/fixes. Can see update notes if interest in more info━☆゜.*
Looks awesome, nice to see the steering wheel actually working! However, there's a few bugs that I'd like to point out as of current (some is just me being picky) -There's two fuel doors, there should only be one on the driver's side (model problem, easy-ish to fix) -The doors no longer open properly, they bounce back closed upon opening (probably a jbeam issue) -The trunk is way incorrect, it should be a solid hatch with the decklid and rear window as one, the taillights should stay in place -The steering wheel's position is off that's all I could think of so far that could use some attention, otherwise it's awesome to see basically the first proper thirdgen F body ingame!
Thank you for your words! I spent most of my time poking at suspension (and getting very not far) so I do apologize for the little progress! -Two fuel doors is noted and a result of the mesh currently still being mirrored since it's still being worked on (although, now that i think about it i can just make it a separate mesh and add it to the flexbodies.. whoops! -Doors i think hit the new fender jbeam.. Thanks for pointing that out, missed it and will be fixed with the next update -Entire rear end needs to be rejbeamed, which should be pretty simple. I'm thinking the entire rear panel (lights and license plate bit) should come off together as one strip similar to the covet but i'm uncertain still of how i will approach that exactly. The process also includes making the rear more of a hatch. -I am still trying to figure out steering wheel position.. I couldn't really find anything in the files directing it to it's exactly location. I think it might be a node which completely went over my head to think about when trying to deal with it. Sounds like a good list of things to do for the next update. I will get to work. --- Post updated --- Also, there is another third gen F body but I think it's locked behind some group. (though has been leaked on third party sites) I think they both use Driver SF meshes actually, but I notice theirs is missing a lot more than mine (basically just has a high poly engine model shoved in what would be the frame, if it had one......) but anyway I think it's just meant to be some drag race roleplay thing rather than a proper mod, so I guess that makes mine the "proper" attempt?.
Yeah, I think I used that one at some point and it was a K series meshslap, it wasn't very good I also took the time to update the shift logic a little, you also left the old engine jbeam in the files so I fixed that for you
I'm just lazy with renaming files. The original file uses v8_2 sounds and '- Copy' is for the V16_engine and v8_cross_exhaust blend you cooked up. (I figure that's what you're talking about, I haven't gone over the uploaded file)
Unless I made a mistake (I threw in the second engine at the last minute ), they should both appear as options under the engine slot
Oh I never checked for that lol, I just downloaded the update and thought it overwrote the custom sound also the steering wheel node is int_strw I think
as someone who was created in the backseat of a 1990 I-ROC this is gonna be so good by the end, its definitely very early on rn, but its gonna be amazing by the end
hood is invisible from the underside also it would be cool if you added some visual parts from early 80s base model camaros like this
hardly would consider this beta, alpha released would be more like it but that's not an option on forums posts Some parts are one sided, as mentioned in the main post Also, your image doesn't embed properly.
