Nothing is ever impossible. Its just so difficult as to not make it worth it at all. Usually a front drive vehicle uses a transverse engine and rear drive longitudinal for a start. Often very difficult to mount an engine transverse in a longitudinal bay and vice versa. Then you need to deal with transmission mounting (front drive it tends to go under the engine) and a driveshaft from front to rear running through a car not originally designed to have a driveshaft running front to rear.
What do you Australian guys think of this new Sandman concept? Usually I like shooting-brake's, I think I like it, but I would like to see it in street trim first and on pictures taken without a wide angle lens. I do think it looks better compared to the previous concepts with a raised roof. I wonder if its based on the ute's wheelbase or the regular sedan/station's, the bed looks quite short of you imagine the rear end of the roof to be non existent.
Its actually built on the VF ute platform but they've really just thrown the back of the wagon onto a ute. I also much prefer the raised roof design too. (imported from here) Its just so much cooler
At sixty five its near the end of a life time rich and golden, Of memories both bold & grand for the humble Aussie Holden. It ruled the roads that stretched out wide from the bridge out to the rock, and fuelled our sheet-steel love affair with Bathurst and with Brock. The greatest times for families on holidays each year, When dad would stuff the Commodore with kids and fishing gear. The Torana in the driveway, the Monaro past the gate, The one-ton ute in an outback town, its Kingswood country mate. The FJ and the EK, The Premier, Belmont, The Statesman and the Clubsport, Its all a bloke could want. But times have changed and rearranged from boom time into bust, our national pride is set aside to languish and to rust. The glory days have all but gone, our car into thin air, To history's page at this sad stage, Advance Australia - where? When locks have seized the factory door, and they've long switched off the light, You can hear the ghost from Fisherman's bend, where the Lion sleeps tonight.
Amen. In piece they may rest, So one day they may be tattooed on my chest ............................................................
I was really hoping to find something like "CAUSE THIS IS FUK'N STRAYA M8" at the end of that. I was kinda disappointed.
Can you drift a pickup sideways at 140mph? Probably not. Can you drift a commodore ute sideways at 140mph while transporting a cow in the back? Why yes, yes one could. Entirely bat shit mental, entirely justified. FUK'N STRAYA Turns out there is a matte black vauxhall vxr8 driving around my town with graphite wheels, damn aggressive looking beast
Well, not stock anyway, im sure with LOTS of modifications to the suspension you could get it to work though (after of course disabling the computerised speed limiter) But yeah, utes are awesome, would be awesome if they ever came to 'Murica Sent from the 3rd galaxy via the talks of tapping
Seen this on the way to work, Only Aussie cars can do such a thing... Why is the image upside down, Goddamit Iphone, Your not so smart...
I saw some fuckwit asking on Yahoo Answers if it rained in Australia or did it just fall into the atmosphere.
ASK GEELY TO SAVE HOLDEN Before November 30th the Holden community are joining together to message Geely Worldwide & ask them to invest 11 billion and save Holden just like they have Volvo. Its a slim chance but if we want to save our automotive culture & future, we have to fight for it. https://www.facebook.com/events/338042326356409/?fref=ts - - - Updated - - - The best car ever built just made it into Forza Horizo 2 (With a Chevy badge tho)
