This would be the oldest BeamNG.drive car mod to ever exist. We do really need more vehicles that are from the 1890s, 1900s, 1910s, 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.
And these types of cars shouldn't be too hard to make, as structurally and design-wise they're much simpler than the thousands of modern cars I see on the forums. Wouldn't call this very simple in the modding sense considering the working chain drive and fully functional belt system lol
Pretty much it's very hard unless you know the skills of modding this game and Jbeam! I tried making car mods too but it did not go well as I didn't even know what to do, so I plan to do some more research of how everything works in this game like the Jbeams and such. Sometimes I give up, and sometimes I try again. It just takes time and practice and researching of how the game works!
I am so excited to try this! I had to sign up here to make this comment about how beautiful it is! As an Ohioan, this makes me think of King Midget cars that were built here. Ohh how I'd love to see one in the game some day. Great job! I can't wait to drive this baby on stream lol Edit: I will only stream with the mod if it's ok with the creator
I can honestly agree with both of these here. We only have like 3 proper (very) old car mods now (this one will be 4th once it releases) yet it's only the 90s and 2000s shitboxes as well as very ugly and complex modern cars. Unless you want to jbeam literally everything, the cars from the eras we are talking about right now should be much easier to make.
Correct. You can see every component without disassembling the car or digging into factory manuals (not that there was any factory for this, it was kinda like a horse driven carriage converted to a "car" lol). --- Post updated --- This is correct, it's lot of trial and error and lua too! Digging into vanilla code and other people's code and seeing what works and what doesn't...but it's fun. --- Post updated --- For the record, what are those 3 very old cars? Do you count Burnside? I think 90s shitboxes are popular with most people, that's why there's so many mods of them. And I do love to test nice complex mods, crashing and seeing all the layers of mechanical stuff underneath crumble...that takes some serious jbeam skill. --- Post updated --- For the record, what are those 3 very old cars? Unfortunately no, I was seeing what else would my Skoda mod need to wrap up (besides pedals), one person complained about wheels popping off too much, can't replicate that bug... I'm also wrapping up a couple of papers so I can graduate soon-ish, so I've been just busy with life.
Your Vello Benz is amazing and a real honour to the old Automobiles to be finally featured in BeamNG. And then in such a realistic and manifested manner with a fully working belt drive working engine and all the details simply stunning. It's just amazing what's possible in Beam if a skilled modder lays his hand on it, keep it on: --- Post updated --- by the way do you still work on your modell T aswell ? That one looks also very promising. I have an idea for realistic cusom inputs for the car controls on your Model T so you can use the clutch pedal like the gear selector pedal (like on the real deal) and let the h pattern sifter act like the parking brake (wich also blocks the pedal from going into the 2nd gear) also the gas pedal could serve as reverse pedal ( i know its normally the midle pedal but i think thats the best solution for a generic 3 pedal PC set) finally the shifter pedals on the wheel could serve as the Throttle lever. the only thing im not quite shure is where to place the timing advancer hm
Nope, the Benz Patent-Motorwagen was the first. It came out in 1885, 9 years prior. The Benz Velo is the successor and is also the first mass-produced car.
Oh hey there Monsieur Poirot! I think the game so much deserves a couple of 10/20/30s cars, like what you would see...well, on Agatha Christie's Poirot actually
