Yea, great points made here, but another issue would be crash damage. Would it be like the antonov an-12b where it has pretty lacking destruction where it just leaves a pretty unrealistic main fuselauge or something a lil better imo being the B-25, which in terms of it being smaller sort of allowed it to have a lil more realistic crash damage. So crash damage should also be taken into account and i feel like the early gen 737's would shine great here.
Yes, but the damage won’t need to be perfectly realistic either. I if by chance the devs would ever make a jet airliner as an official vehicle, it would have to be fictionalized since no aircraft manufacturer would want their planes being shown in a game where they can, and will be crashed, smashed and destroyed. Because of this, they would probably need to combine features of several aircraft, and may be some completely made up, so the crash physics won’t be accurate to any one specific model. If a modder makes it, then they might be able to get away with it cause it’s unofficial, but then again, none of the current real life plane mods have completely realistic crash physics. Even a modder might get served with a copyright takedown notice if they make a mod of a 737 with realistic crash physics, considering the current stigma surrounding Boeing regarding that aircraft model. Also off topic but this door right in front of the engine looks really dangerous
I feel like the best bet would be a fictionalized aircraft, kindof like what GTA does. An aircraft that kinda-sorta looks Boeing, kinda-sorta looks Airbus, kinda-sorta looks Convair, etc. It would be hell to model realistically though.
I think this plane would fit well the atr 72 becuse its light, can land evrywere and it haves simple technics
It isn't as versatile as a twin otter though, those things can actually land anywhere and be used for basically any purpose. They're also not too fast, so you can enjoy flying them around any map. It isn't overly large (so it will be reasonable to develop) and can be passenger AND cargo. Really is an all-in one-package and would be the best plane to add to a game like Beam. Could be named something like 'HD Dual Beaver' (To the OP, you should have this thread moved to 'Ideas and Suggestions')
I didn't know that existed until now. The twin otter is still a better choice as it can be used for literally anything, while that's just an uber-versatile military plane.
This mod got lost --- Post updated --- Also there is a Boeing 777, a747, and a a319 in modland but they are Antonovs with a changed skin
I would really like to have an ATR 72 in the Game because it's my favourite Plane and many Airlines use him so there could be many Livery's like my favourite Binter Canarias. I really like your idea, please work further
you could, but that would probably turn out utterly terrible (and you'd probably still need to adjust the proportions, which would then require you to re-check the weight distribution).
I've been periodically working on a DC-3 for the last several years for BeamNG -- it's not as simple or straightforward as you might imagine. I'm not especially good at any aspect of modding BeamNG and my time/motivation constraints are prohibitive, but here's an in-game screenshot of the jbeamed fuselage from Jan 2022 for kicks (B-25 for size reference).
