The issue of tires not heating up properly from 'weaving' could likely be solved by modeling the 'skin' of the tire separately from the core such that weaving provides temporary heat to the skin, and less so to the core (iirc assetto Corsa uses a similar approach)
I'll have a think about it, not a bad suggestion at all. Perhaps that could provide the extra weaving heat that I need
atm only thermals really differ between different compounds, because it was more important to me to focus on fixing that first. different wear and wear-grip-response is coming soon
Deleted --- Post updated --- I think I found a bug, when going water, it changes from asphalt to doesnt exist.
Not really a bug, doesn't exist is just the value I'm using internally to represent no contact material being found. I think you are floating slightly above the ground? If you are touching the ground and this shows up, then do let me know so I can fix it.
very excited for that to release, is this mod going to be allowed on every beammp server that wants to use it?
would love to see a mechanic where if cooling is much too rapid tires will burst. its uncommon but it happens in rally with water splashes. rapid cooling will burst the rims exploding the tires
that could be a very cool feature to have, ill put it in my personal notes --- Post updated --- yes 100%, the goal was to make this a public mod mainly because i saw something similar was out there as a private mod that noone could use, so i decided to make this
They don't currently IIRC, since what pressure changes is the contact patch size, but since the contact patch has no width (it's just a point) there's no way to simulate that accurately
Currently it does not affect the thermals, although it's planned. It's just not quite as easy to incorporate, as I'd need to find a good way to determine a good baseline tyre pressure in my math. I don't affect tyre pressure based on thermals because I already simulate that as part of my overall simulations.
Yo the UI app is blank, anything I'm doing wrong? --- Post updated --- Never mind I switched to a different vehicle it's working now.
lucky4luuk updated Luuks Tyre Thermals and Wear Mod with a new update entry: v1.0.1: The big release! Read the rest of this update entry...
yeah it seems like there is a weird bug with AI and them not providing brake thermals. i never tested with AI because i didn't realize it would cause issues. new version is getting uploaded tonight, so it'll be available on the repo tomorrow --- Post updated --- a new version has been uploaded, hopefully it gets approved tomorrow and everything will be fine again
