Youtube now has the option of uploading in 60fps. To view a video in 60fps (if it is available on the video, its up to the uploader) go to the video quality option and there should be an option that says 720p60 (im not sure if it is available for 1080p yet).
Just thought I should let you guys know.

yes it's available in 1080P as well (i was actually going to do so, but i couldn't find a vegas render setting that used a file type that youtube supported, and wasn't 3GB (the fps isn't an excuse either, as the .avi files i got from fraps was only about 1gb))

I think youtube has gotten lazy lately with renovating the way that the videos can be uploaded and viewed and have only focused on making more money from ad revenue and integrating Google+. I think that the whole 60fps thing only exists now because of the nex-gen consoles. From what I understand, theres no real excuse for not being able to upload different file types of any size. Seeing as they have the best people in the business, they could easily change it so you can upload any kind of video file. But oh well. Im still enjoying the silky smooth 60fps

Oh, I didn't want big file size because I didn't feel like dealing with uploading that big a file

And im sure there is a render setting that im not noticing that meets both reqs

It's also not available outside of Chrome, so it might as well not exist for now.

Did you change the video quality to the 720p60 or 1080p60 setting? And do you have a decent internet speed? Double the framerate means double the file size, plus its only available in HD so thats a lot more information than the standard 360p video

Honestly when it comes to videos, i struggle to tell the difference, or at least care if its 30 or 60fps. If i was playing the game, then yes, i can absolutely tell the difference, and for many types of game, (racing included) will strive for 60 at all times.

Its cool using the Half speed thing on youtube on a 60fps video and its not a slideshow anymore.

Actually no, it take that back. I just watched this video and i can definitely see how smooth it is.

Watching SC at 60fps makes it look anazing. Mobile doesn't support it yet. (Nor 1080p on iOS)

It has to specifically be "720p60" or "1080p60" Not very many videos have 60fps yet, so you can only watch certain videos in 60fps. I suggest insanegaz's 60fs tests, and i think Jacksepticeye has 60fps on his omegaladon video.

You'd think that, but if youtube are even vaguely competent it isn't as bad as all that :p. Video compression is extremely clever. The relationship is usually proportional, but it shouldn't be as bad as doubling. Its all to do with a video's bitrate, and you pack image quality and framerate into that.

Good point. Youtube compresses the hell out of videos so its probably 25% bigger or something :p

Video compression is so bad on YouTube that I had to watch a video in 4k to have the same quality as me playing the actual game at 720p. :/
