Look what I found: Project Type 508 by Porsche - A Diesel Engine for the VW Bug. Project Type 508: Porsche Diesel for the VW Beetle | Hoffmann Speedster (hoffmann-speedster.com) Porsche type numbers - Wikipedia
the exhaust needs the jbeam modified, i might do some testing to see if i can fix it rn --- Post updated --- neat to see people create more parts for this as well --- Post updated --- modified single exhaust jbeam: --- Post updated --- early versions would be great to have, and wouldnt be too hard to model afaik
This was a prototype diesel engine for the VW Beetle during the '50s. Porsche and VW have a close relationship to this day. Many engines used by VW are actually designed by Porsche. Look here: Porsche type numbers - Wikipedia Type No. 508
Hey somoene made the version i was trying to make, how cool --- Post updated --- --- Post updated --- Btw i own a beetle, that one from my pfp is a recereation, if you want something i could help with that --- Post updated --- Actually i think theres one beetle with that engine in a museum --- Post updated --- The mod one is better but my config (without changing the mod files) looks preety similar --- Post updated --- Btw talking about brazilian beetles, a very cool adiction would be the "Tremendão" headligh. What is this? A version of the beetle headlight that has a little foglamp and iluminates better. Heres some picture It would be a very cool adicition to the mod, and as i said i own a beetle, and i can help with reference if you actually want to work on that suggestion
Guys, I apologize for my ignorance but... How can some people modify the mod and I can't? cuz i wanted to make sort of a custom beetle but all the car settings/custom options can't really give what I wanna make. For example, how can I modify Herbie's wheels and height? How can I make Herbie stop drifting and have another kind of grip? How can I change the color of the rooftop? How can I change Herbie's headlights? How can I remove the GoodYear text on Herbie's wheels? I apologize for any grammar mistake, I'm not English. I hope someone can answer --- Post updated --- Another thing. Creator! Please, could you release the first version of the mod but with the Herbie behaviour slot? Many people still love the old version and the only thing that's kind of annoying is the fact that Herbie always choses to not go!
Another thing, that would be harder then the headligh (atleast i think) make the chairs go to the front (for the passagenrs access the back seats) Im not an english speaker, so that is what i meant (Talking again about the "Tremendão" headlight, if you want to implement, i can help with the headlight itself, cause i don't know shit about beamng mod or blender --- Post updated --- Also, do you plan to put that mod with the AW brand in repository? Its kinda sad that this mod don't get just famous as other mods just cause its an forum mod.
Moving seats are something I want to do. And yes, AW brand is planned. Soon™ The current version of the mod already has a lot of customization options (some of them might be a little overkill, but I like it that way ) It only a matter of finding them in the parts list. The interior, the ragtop roof, the wheels, and many other parts have "color" variations as subparts. To freely customize the engine, transmission, and suspension you just have to select the various "race" parts. Each of them will give you a number of options in the "Tuning" menu. I'm not sure what exactly you want to change in terms of "grip": Keep in mind that BeamNG is a simulation with limits. The biggest improvements can be archive be selecting better wheels in the parts list. You can fit almost all available wheels in BeamNG to it. Also, there is a (unrealistic) high grip variant of the GoodYear tires.
And about the headlight? You plan to try? Cause i think modelling it from scratch must be kinda hard, but my volkswagen beetle has one, so i can help, just notify me if you need sonething
Hello! Posted this comment last week but moderation didn't approve it until yesterday. Anyway, hope this can help! Keep up the good work!
By grip I meant the same grip that the first version of the mod had (The same grip that made Herbie flip when a turn was too narrow) It's kinda hard to control Herbie when it drifts too much. Could you please explain to me how to change wheels? Because there's nothing in the tuning menu (I'm using the version 20.5) I again apologize for any grammar mistake.
