There aren't any changes for Vulkan/Linux in 0.29. Everything should work the same as on 0.28.

Most of the times i've seen stuff like this happen it's because of a missing font on your system. But I find it weird that it worked previously fine for you so its maybe something else

Nah, it was always like that. Question is what font is missing though

Hi there, I'm running the latest version of popOS and it works pretty good, but what annoys me is that the unsupported Linux distribution is always there and can not be closed.

I would guess that its Noto Sans or Overpass, but those are all supplied in the game files.

It seems like the issue is somewhere else, the right font seems to be used for you as well. Could this be a font spacing issue?
If I modify the game files in a way to introduce font spacing for the performance page, I get a similar effect.
Maybe this could have something todo with the use of 'em' as a measuring unit, and perhaps some scaling or translation issues?

You can press Acknowledge button after opening that message box. Alternatively, you can do that in the Options -> Performance tab.

Was this ever actually addressed? Running 0.29.1 still crashes my entire system while 0.27 works fine.

I replied somewhere in the thread that removing the cache fixes the issue.

how do you remove the cache for the linux version?

    edit: nvm, I found it.
    For anyone else looking: ~/.local/share/BeamNG.drive/0.29/temp
I also deleted shadercache (not sure if needed) at ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/shadercache/3984475816
Back to crashing occasionally, but doesn't seem to be crashing the entire computer anymore

But the game was in a stable state for a good 10 minutes

I tried to get Beam running through gamescope but the screen stays black and Beam "Failed to get DPI for Monitor 0". Is there any way to get it working?

Your guess is right, did you try to remove the temp folder from the user folder? If yes, that might be a problem with GTX 10x0 gpus being broken.

Is this on a Steam Deck?

Freshly verified install of BeamNG, fully cleared user folder. Should be like a first run. Still get the total system crash with display disconnect/reconnect.
