from Gallardo 5.0 from Lexus LFA from M5 E60 (my fav video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpHo7gwEuM0&ab_channel=KrisH91709 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNH1JFgcB_k&ab_channel=EvolveAutomotive
there is a honda v-tech engine in the ATG Video 1 folder. And if it doesn't sound good enough you can always use a custom impulse response. Can you also use the mild_exhaust and minimal_muffling impulse responses for the different exhaust options for each of the vehicles you changed the sounds for?
After some brief tests of your mod in missions, I have some feedback for you. -Bastion's V8 sound has grain at high rpm and on deceleration -Bastion and LeGran V6 Sounds like VR6 aroud 4k to 6k rpm -ETK-800 Series i6 sound like an old BMW i6 (like S50 and S54) You could try using the sound from N54/55 or B58 to be more realistic - D/H-Series, Roamer and Hooper i6 sound it's too loud even with stock exhaust/mufffler -SBR4 Has grain in the sound after 5500rpm -Miramar i4 sound it's a little loud on Stock exhaust -Landsale and Wendover V6 idle sound needs to be a little more "quiet" The rest is perfect, especially the i4 Sounds you "Nailed-it"
i wont say it again, the stuff with the exhausts is a compromise. if it sounds right for the race configs, it will be loud for the stock exhausts. if it sounds right for stock exhausts, it will be too quiet for race configs. by default, exhausts can have different "muffling" but with the moddable sound system, muffling has no effect. its just a limitation and theres nothing i can do about it. secondly, idk what you mean by "grain" i would be interested to hear exactly what you interpret it as. and finally the bruckell v6 uses the engine sim "generic v6" engine, so idk what is making it sound like a vr6 i appreciate that you like the i4 sounds though, but in the nicest way possible, i have to say that a lot of the feedback that ive been getting (not just from you, dont worry) has been just a little vague. not that its not "constructive" but since a lot of people lack knowledge of the process then it can often be less than helpful. sorry if i sound harsh i just want to make sure we arent stuck talking about issues that cant be fixed lol --- Post updated --- and yeah, i cant make different exhausts have separate sounds. its just not possible in the game at the moment since muffling pretty much solves it with the stock sounds.
In the exhaust file in the soundconfigExhaust section if you insert the sampleName part you can have a separate sound for the custom exhausts but it will just overwrite the exhaust sample from the engine.jbeam or visa versa
The "grain" I mention is in relation to the audio having a noise, something like a "shhh" you know, kind of hard to translate that into English hahaha. But if some videos can help you to improve certain mentioned sounds a little, you can tell me that I will try to help. As an audiophile I love to listen and compare sounds --- Post updated --- And if you are interested, you can contact Hell_Raiser_999, he also makes engine sound mods here on the forum, maybe you can exchange knowledge or even work together on this mod, he even developed a tool to modify vehicle sounds within the game
thats interesting, i had no idea. i will give this a try. Yeah idk what i can do about the grain, it sounded fine in the original recording, i could adjust the EQ ingame but i want to avoid any post processing or noise reduction since that often sounds worse than if it was pure white noise lol and yeah ive heard of hellraiser, i like his work so i might be able to contact him, i have no idea where he gets his samples from since they are godlike lmao (im just praying that he didnt just rip them from assetto or something)
And if you are interested, you can contact Hell_Raiser_999, he also mods engine sounds here on the forum, maybe you can exchange knowledge or even work together n Yes, you said what i was trying to explain, it's the white noise (the shhh sound) I was mentioning, it exists in the Bastion's V8 sound on deceleration and in the V6s at high rpm. And yes, try to contact him. If the samples are ripped from the asseto, you can still use them as a base parameter (create your own using them as parameters) in terms of quality, volume, EQ and Etc
When installing the 'vehicles' folder into the /0.29 folder, it tries to replace the 'vehicles' folder that contains all of my custom configs. Do i even need it?
it should just use the vehicles folder without touching the stuff inside, idk what its trying to replace sorry
I've lied to you all. It turns out you can give every exhaust/intake a separate set of sounds, as demonstrated to me by FFIVGUY. The sounds themselves are unfinished, but I plan to do this for nearly all vehicles in the next update. (also sorry idk how to embed video here)
I noticed that SBR4 and Civetta Bolide don't have remastered engines Btw, thank you man! This mod is very nice!
the SBR4 actually does, bolide is coming later although the scintilla is already done for the next update
you dont need to do individual requests since i plan to do all engines at some point or another. if youre thinking of it, then its probably planned already
