WIP Beta released CETAM Ambulance Upfit 0.2

Ever since Maxie's Crown Victoria, i wanted to have a more custom Ambulance Upfit. So here is my upfit based from the default BeamNG Ambulance Box and from the Real Life counterpart CETAM in the province of Quebec,Canada.

This is the discussion/Update post for the Repo Mod.

Great job, I really like this upfit! One note, I don't know if it's feasible... on ambulances I've worked on, the white rear (scene) lights turn on automatically when the back doors are opened to light up the area when removing or returning the stretcher, not the yellow lights. Our ambulances don't have yellow lights but I think on those that do, they usually flash like the red lights. Regardless, I think this mod is great, there aren't many ambulance mods on here and the vanilla Beamng version needed a little love. Si vous etes Quebecois, j'aime ce mod, bon travail!

 

Thank you! Je suis Quebecois! Merci beaucoup. If ever you want i can reprogram the doors to trigger the white rear lights. Tho, I have never seen the yellow flasher in use on the ambulances. I live near CETAM and enver saw them turn on. So i mostly just assumed the fonction.

Currently working on updating all strobes/light fixtures on the upfit to match the protype that are using Federal Signal Quadra flasher and Whelen 600/900 series lights.

It needs more work but here is a small peek at the turn signal arrow:

 

Update for the upcoming 0.2 release:

I worked a lot more on the textures to give it more the LED feel then the 0.1 version. I managed to get some better quality Federal Signal Quadraflare and Whelen 600/900 series housing to put the textures up on the upfit. As it is my goal to end up with a sort of Canada/Quebec focused ambulance box, i started separating some features up with drop down menu's.

For example, the Traffic advisor now comes can be fully removed, Halogen Lights or Bright LED's. The marker lights on top of the box, are either Halogen or LED. These are only the beginning of options to come to the Ambulance box.

On recommendation of mrutherford, the rear white lights now turns on when the rear doors are opened and i added interior illumination. The Yellow lights now just flashes with the rest of the strobes.

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the massive delay, but i skipped entirely what was supposed to be the original 0.2 release. I have to do some last testing then tomorrow it will be uploaded to the repo.

Here what you can expect from the 0.2 update:
-New Front box strobe system (See below for details)
-Updated Textures on the strobes
-Traffic Advisor now able to be removed, or choosing from LED or halogen
-Marker Light now LED or Halogen
-Top Taillight can be chosen to strobe or not. (can be seen in use in Montreal)
-Opening the Door now turn on the White LED's and not the yellow.

-Interior now illuminates when doors open​

-Yellow Strobes now flashes.
-New Stop, Reverse and Arrow Texture
-Box Added around the Traffic Advisor
-Textures updated around the fender area
-Very basic Headlight Wigwag Pattern added in the options (will be updated in 0.3)
-Added two Configs to show off the front box Strobes.


The massive delay and biggest feature of this update is the highly custom front box strobes in the front of the upfit. I decided to try and see if my concept would work and after a lot of headache's i managed to get the feature working. So in very short, you can choose from 7 strobes on the front of the upfit and you can customise if they are there or not. Select between red and clear lens (for now ) , if using clear lens, what color and finally a flash pattern.

To do (related to the option "Front Box Strobes":
-Add Whelen 700 size
-More flashing patterns
-More Color Lens (need to find good photographs)
-Different option of lightbars (Currently only have the strobes option)

-Integrate vanilla lightbars
-Integrated lightbar into the upfit(as seen in earlier version of cetam/urgence santé, here a modern version of it at the cote saint luc EMS)

-Custom "aero" lightbar ( no idea what these are called)

-A/C Unit:

Known Issues:
-Center Strobe is very limited in options compared to the others light.

The way the front box strobes are setup is how i will update all other strobes on the upfit. I did not want to have multiple versions to have options. I wanted to put the options in the hand of the player. The colors and flashing patterns are matching of the whelen 900's You can have the full 7 Strobes or not. have a red lens or clear lens. Long term, every strobe of the ambulance will be able to be customized.

Shown Below:
Red and yellow Whelen 900's clear lens on the outer edge. Full Red in the center and a Cross flash of red and blue. Also a small Whelen 700 as center strobe.



Here is a preview of the part selector:


Whelen Red lens will only have the pattern option.
The Clear lens will have the Flash Pattern and the color.
Color Options: (First Color is always Top then 2nd one is bottom)

Flash Patterns (Valid for both Red and Clear lens):


Every Strobe is independent. You can have whatever flash pattern and color as you wish. I would love to have feedback on how the system work. The 0.3 update will be focused on the updating the front of the h-series (fender,grille) alongside bringing in the same system of custom patterns to the side of the upfit.

Added a box that contains the Traffic Advisor.

Ay you think you can have the grille flashers not in the way of the Gavril text?

 

This is what im going to be working on 0.3. Idk if ill just redo the grille entirely or resize the Gravil text. I want to add the speaker of the siren as it is on the prototype.

In my opinion, this is one of the best lighting mods in Beam. Certainly no ambulance lighting compares. Thank you for working so hard on this. Comme toujours, bon travail!

 

I really like this mod a lot. I do wish I was able to customize the side and rear LED emergency lights though.
