Oh sorry, I didn't want to sound mad or angry. I should have put in an emoji or something. It is just that Škoda is sort of a big deal in my part of the world. Out of all the XX century automakers East of Germany, they are the only one that survived two world wars, communism, and the switch back to a market economy. They made(or make) cars, trucks, planes, guns, cannons, tanks, and trains. Plus the cars they made show up in a lot of video games. Škoda is what all the East European, and a lot of others around the world, car brands want to be. So it is the last good car brand my part of the world has, I am a tad defensive towards it.
oh no its alright, i really love old skodas ive never seen an old skoda in my country because they are rare, and i really love old classic cars instead of modern vehicles.
There's only a few 2000's cars i like , it's the most modern cars i like There is also the Citroën C4 Cactus
very true, i love the iconic on these cars and the 80s mercedes suspension amazes me especially the 70s audi and the other cars.
To all this "they don't make them like they used to" sentiment, I have to add "Thank God!" Modern cars are all far better than old cars. Newer engines rev faster and burn less fuel. The current cheap tires are better than top-of-the-shelf products back then. Brakes are better, I would take a 2004 drum brake over a 1993 disk brake. The reliability of a newer car is not even in the same ballpark as older offerings. I only ever needed to put gas in a 2003 Ford, and the 1988 Mercedes was an exercise in technomancy to get to the grocery store. And don't even talk to me about a 1997 Jaguar. Out of the 12 cylinders it had a random 2 were always on strike. The only thing older cars are better at is driver visibility. Just to not make this a total derail. I owned a 742 series Skoda, a 1987 Skoda 120. I now own a 1997 Skoda Felicia, there is not one thing the old car does better than the newer one.
Diesel. Also , you're just comparing the New car to 80's-90's one and Jaguar doesen't count in the thing because they became one of the most unreliable car brand (sharing the same place with Land rover, who had a worse fate)
I told you not to talk to me about that Jaguar. It was a disaster on blocks. Because of the cylinders randomly not working I called the engine a V-pick a number. But let us talk about the 1988 Mercedes W124, a 230TE. Said to be one of the more reliable cars. The rear differential fell out, the suspension was the only thing keeping the wheels in place!!! 1975 Saab 99, the dif gave up the ghost and the thing had to be towed all the way to Poland by a 1999 Daewoo Lanos. So no one can convince me older cars were better than newer ones. Unless it is a Dacia, those things are bad no matter the year they were made in.
*Peugeot and Citroën's old diesel* --- Post updated --- Peugeot and Citroën used to have some many diesel that were indestructible (504 ,404 , CX , AX....)
Hello, so I fixed the window texture on the Škoda, and the engine sound as well. I grabbed it from Škoda 1203, cause they sound similar (so maybe you'll need the 1203 for it to work properly, but i'm not sure as it seems the sound is pre-built in the game). And since Atomix said "do whatever you want to", would you be interrested in this, or should I keep it for myself? Let me know.
