Yeah I'm suprised about how non-greedy the devs are They know that anyone would pay as much as they ask for literally the best vehicle game ever (so far), but keep the price low. I don't think paid DLCs are on the devs mind though, because of one simple thing. As time goes on and the game gets better, they raise the price slowly, compensating for the amount of work they have put into the game. Even with the steadily increasing price, people still buy it because its BeamNG, who wouldn't want it?
They're getting a lotta money from the BeamNG.tech stuff, I reckon, so that's why .drive has remained $25 for almost 10 years. (Also, not having to pay publishers likely helps a lot - Teardown went up in price earlier this year after Saber Interactive acquired Tuxedo Labs, and now Teardown's gonna be getting its first season pass for almost as much as the game itself.)
Paying for upgrading your car? That's already part of the WIP Career Mode. --- Post updated --- DLC skin packs, tire packs and wheel packs for specific purposes (say dragging or rally racing) are a great idea. If anything, they will justify the tons of creativity and man power the devs and artists put into making the fictional world of BeamNG possible.
I think they mean pay real money to get in-game money At least, i interpreted "get a Civetta faster" as "buy a Civetta in less time"
oh hell nah, beambucks and the civetta faster idea is a horrible idea, the beam bucks could either be like Forza Horizon with those gimmicks (the good side) or it could be like Roblox (manipulative & greedy side) the upgrading cars to be faster with beam bucks is a good idea IFFFF... the beam bucks are through (idk) gameplay, not real money. hope i made sense somewhat
Guys it is most likely they are cooking something really tastey give it time am sure teaser soon ( when ready ( TM ) what it will be who knows time will tell am legit more Hyped for beamng update/news Then GTA 6 legit
The devs shot their foot by allowing modding so openly, whatever premium stuff they would make, someone should be able to mod it in, in one way or another.
However, allowing modding so openly is part of the reason why Beam's had such a long-term appeal - it would've probably died out long before now (or at least, had a much smaller audience) had modding not been allowed in the early days of the game's development.
Case in point: the current traffic system literally came from a mod made by Gamergull (who later became a dev). I don't know of any other cases where mods were directly translated into the game, but many features in the official game (like working doors, manual shift levers, and tachometers) were featured on mods years before, such as the Satsuma 210. Although BeamMP can be quite janky at times, the fact that it works as well as it does is absolutely incredible - I'm sure the Beam devs have gotten a lotta money from sales of people who have bought the game because they can play with their friends on BeamMP (I know quite a few people who bought Beam because of the BeamMP sessions one of my friends used to host in the early months of 2023).
Ah, that's a bit overused of a concept, if I'm honest. --- Post updated --- Me too. After all, the GTA VI will be of the so-called "politically correct" variety, while BeamNG's nature has no such issues. --- Post updated --- I didn't expect it either. Maybe they decided to include such a vehicle because they felt they kinda created false expectations back in December 2022, with that artwork with the UTV on the Johnson Valley, and they wanted to redeem themselves. What matters, though, is that this is an awesome little toy! I use it very frequently, both on and off the road!
