PC build

I am going to build a gaming pc for my brother and he wants to max out every single game at 1080p with over 60 fps. His budget is $2000. He needs cpu motherboard ram gpu psu and case. I'm having trouble trying to get a good build together so help is appreciated. Thank you.

That's super overkill. You could do 4k even with this. Drop one GPU and even it out some and you'll have 1080p for ~1500. It's also color coordinated. You could use other GPUs and go for another color instead of black/red.

 

My brother prefers 5th gen I forgot to point out.

 

5th gen is actually 4th gen plus 2 or 4 cores. If he renders video it makes sense, but not for gaming. The 5xxx series can actually be slower sometimes and is harder to cool. The 5820k boosts to 3.6Ghz stock, the 4790k boosts to 4.4Ghz stock. No reason to not go 4790k.

Also, the money wasted on 5xxx series would take away from the GPU budget.

why did you change the one 500GB ssd to a bunch of 128gb ones? that doesn't have any logic at all

 

I mean, that's a fine build, but it's no better than the one I showed you honestly. That cooler is actually worse than the 240L, and the SSDs are just wasting money. I could see two 256GBs if you want to RAID, but otherwise I don't see it. Also not sure on that PSU. It's a 1000w corsair but I think I remember some of them having issues. If you wanted to change the case that is up to you.

All-in-all it's your (or your brother's) build, and both are very nice builds.

EDIT: I see you also went for the G9. If he is overclocking that's fine, but otherwise it's just $$$.

 

He's not gonna over lock a lot. He likes corsair so I'm just gonna get him the h105. Also it matches the red and black color scheme. And I like the RM series corsair psus because they have flat cables for better cable management. I Might change the ssds to 2 or 3 256gb ssds.
